My senior year of high school (last year), I broke off from my previously squad (full of great players) and formed an intramural squad made up of only my best friends.
We originally had six players, but one of my friends wanted to add an inside presence to our team at the start of the season. He was a 6 foot 5 big man who could squat 400+ pounds. I really didn't know him too well, and the rest of my friends didn't know him that well either so we decided to keep our team as a "scrub" squad. The entirety of our team was therefore under 5'11".

The next six paragraphs can be skipped, they simply explain our players and our comparisons.

Just to give you all an idea of how similar our team was in style to the rox (but obviously not in height), I'll make some comparisons. I am 5' 8-9" but considered one of the fastest guard-types in intramurals and in intramurals (which really isn't saying much) and have a vertical comparable to Carter (36" to 39" variable) which is evident from the fact that I am close to dunking and can pretty much dunk with a volleyball. I was considered the "Steve Francis" of our team (sorry if I sound cocky, I just play very similarly and produce similarly).
The second scoring option on our team was actually a surprise, who didn't play spectacular until Intramural time came around and had never played at the level he reached until this year(just like Mobley). He had an inch on me, at 5'10", and could straight up SHOOT the ROCK(Just like Mobley). However, much like Mobley, he needed the ball and would often turn into a black hole(Just like Mobley).
We had a Kenny Thomas type, in an undersized inside player at 5'9". However, he learned to use his weight and power to level the playing field. He would often drive (just like Kenny) and power his way through or burn bigger forwards.
We had a Moochie Norris, in the fact that he was clutch when we needed him, in a 5'6" crazy guard who (more like Tierre) hustled everywhere. He always passed unless given the open shot.
We had a Maurice Taylor type big man with a shot but played a bit soft on the inside.
We had a Dan Langhi, who just never felt truly comfortable on the floor, but did one game and went off for about 6 consecutive shots.

    Continuation of main point

The season went on, and we started off successful (2-0), but injuries began to plague us. Against a much bigger squad, (primarily 6' 3" and up and many 200+ pounds) our Mobley type injured his ankle(what coincidence!). I was posting up Francis like numbers (24+ points, 70-80% fg%, leading the team in rebounds, steals, and assists (primarily to our Mobley) throughout the 15 game 10 week season, but our team was lacking the inside presence as evident by our 3-7 finish in the regular season and the 2nd round elimination in tourney.
There was a point when I truly realized the need for an inside presence. My best game, I shot 22-22 to start and was on fire against the third best team in intramurals. However, as I became tired I saw before my eyes my teammates go cold and the opposing team begin to mount a comeback. As soon as I sat out, our teams rebounding went down significantly and our team collapsed.
I decided to see if we could still get our big man, and even decided to have our team play with him on our squad at a local gym. The results were incredible. I realized that our mediocre team could have gone all the way with such a huge inside presence. However, I asked the people in charge of intramurals and they didn't allow his addition in the middle of the season. I saw my mistake too late.

    Conclusion

I really hope that the Rockets do not make my mistake pass up on an inside presence. Although I had no "Odom" on my squad, it was obvious that we have been served best with a true frontcourt player. By having waited too late to try out our "big man" we lost dearly.

    P.S.

I probably bored most posters to death with this long post, but I just had to post this due to the similarities. Also, my team was no Rockets clone, but plz look past that.
