HOUSTON - One would never think of Aaron Brooks and Rick Adelman as a pair. One is short. The other is shorter. One is 63 years old, the other is 23. But this odd couple seem to have a budding bro-mance. How else could one explain the copious minutes given to Aaron Brooks in the Rockets-Lakers series? Artest, when asked about it, said, "Yeah, them guys are homos. And they are jocking Kobe. They snuck up to his room to try and convince him to have a threeway, but Kobe just said 'nah,' and went 'you fools are crazy'." So what about these allegations? We tried to find Adelman to ask his opinion, but Rocket's assistant coach Jack Sikma insisted we not interrupt Adelman's nightly 3rd period nap. After he awoke from his slumber, we tried again to ask these burning questions, but Adelman was whispering gently into the ears of assistant coach T.R. Dunn. Has the torrid affair already turned into a love triangle? Brooks, when confronted with these allegations, merely responded by standing around wasting everyone's time, then trying to get Battier and Artest to help him at the last second. This alleged situation is a twist on the story from two days ago, which suddenly clarifies our then-misconceptions. Just this past Wednesday third-year shooting guard Von Wafer demanded more playing time, telling Adelman that Brooks was killing the team. At that point, Adelman's passion for Brooks was apparently affecting his decision-making, and he hastily sent Wafer away to the locker room. But only minutes later Artest was ejected from the game and Adelman seemed to desperately be in need of Wafer's services. It remains to be seen what will come of this story, but this is just the latest in a bizarre sequence of events involving Rockets' head coach Rick Adelman and Aaron Brooks. We will cover any new developments.
