Crap! There is breaking news on ESPN that the NBA and NBAPA have broken off negotiations, so basically we are definitely heading towards a lockout. I guess Yao is going to have that prolonged break he always wanted! Guys, I am uploading the mp3 file of Les's interview, its quality is not great but good enough for you to hear everything clearly and understand it.
macfan, all you have to do is move to Houston, and you can listen to John & Lance & Rich & Mark & Jeremy.
Alright guys, here is the audio link for the LEs Alexander interview on SR610: http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=39U7F9YXQ9J653RQNUT991GXGJ
macfan, They will have online streaming beginning later on this month, so good news on that front. You don't have to move to Houston anymore to hear all these interviews, you can do it from Orlando now
Does anyone know if this is Stern's 2nd lockout or who was the commissioner when the 1st lockout happened?
Basically what Les said was that he knows the team HAS to get better in the off-season and that he thinks that there is not a FA that isnt interested in coming to Houston. They tried to get him to talk about the possible NBA lock-out, but he said that Stern has told everyone in the league to not say a word, or its a 1 MILLION dollar fine. I didnt catch the first part, but this is basically what I heard.
Thanks dharocks. The fact that 2 lockouts is even possible in less than 6yrs is very disturbing. I can't believe it is even being discussed, especially since the NHL lockout was so disgusting. These guys need to suck it up and get some business done, it's not fair to the fans.
Having a lockout doesn't mean a work stoppage. It just means they'll lock out contracts until the new CBA is settled. With what happened to the NHL, there is NO WAY the league allows there to be a lockout that costs them games.
Come on guys, ever since the highlights have stopped coming, have you forgot to upload? Keep the links coming! http://s37.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=39Y2J1YDRR7TD330QRCQ8L3PGR
would it be a bad idea to put something in the CBA that says if a new CBA is not agreed on by a certain time the the current CBA will automatically be extended until a new agreement is reached?
I don't think they'd go for that because in that instance the players would just not even negotiate because they like the current deal.
Unless you're the NBA deputy commissioner, in which case you can leak and spin and **** all over the players' union: http://www.nba.com/news/cba_050518.html
