Good. Maybe he will start playing like a real quarterback now instead of sissy. But that's wishful thinking, he probably just had his split ends cut.

This strikes me as uninformed. Are you just looking for better numbers? I hated his hair too, but that guy gets hit more than any other NFL QB (thanks to that joke of an O-line) and keeps getting back up and running out there. "Sissy" wasn't quite the word that comes to mind, despite the stupid-looking hair.

No, I was talking about playing like a sissy. When you are losing to the second worse team in the league (at the time), in the last game of the season, with four seconds to go untill halftime and your receivers all heading towards the endzone and you run out of bounds instead of putting the ball up. That's sissy. To me, that shows that he was more concerned with his numbers than trying to produce a win. And many of the fans at that game agreed with that sentiment as they booed him.

They were booing the team as a whole for losing to the Browns and not one individual player.

To me, you're making a lot of assumptions. If I remember that play correctly, he was under some pressure and had to leave the pocket. It's hard to throw it all the way down the field on the move. If he didn't think he had the arm strength to get it all the way to the end zone, it's better that he just go out of bounds than risk some sort of crazy interception and runback. Or, in the middle of all these guys chasing him, he might've had a momentary lapse and forgotten it was the last play of the half. It happens in the heat of the moment. It's assuming a lot to say he was doing it for his stats.

Let me also say this: I was not in favor of drafting Carr from day one, but I have nothing against the guy personally. I'm sure he's a stand up person, but I just haven't seen enough out of him as a player. I will acknowledge him if he lives up the the number one billing, but as of now, he's been slightly above average. Some of that is attributed to the line he's is protected by but that is not the entire story.

I think he's done awright given the fact he has not been asked to carry the team with his arm. McNair was oft criticized in Fishers conservative offense, but once he was let loose, MVP. I think Carr could be a by-product of the conservative offense. What he's not doing is winning, which is something mcnair did early on. But given that the Texans are a start up franchise I don't see that as a big deal. It's just gonna take a little longer.

I wanted Julius Peppers but I think Carr was the next best pick. I still think they should have drafted Peppers but its hard to argue against getting a "franchise" qb. He hasn't performed above or below expectations so its hard to argue against the pick. He' right on track.

You wanted Peppers as an OLB? Because he is to small to play end in the 3-4. Franchise quaterback over DE hybrid OLB any day of the week.

top 5 defensive player in the league over avg qb anyday. The reason I put franchise in quotes is because we all assume he will be, but he isn't yet. His progress is fine but he isn't there yet. Peppers is even though you want to try to discredit him by calling him hybrid OLB, the fact is he is already one of the top defensive players in the league.

All that, and he can only cite one example. DCarr has a history of being tough.

Discredit him? He just mentioned, rightly, that the Texans were committed to running the 3-4, a defense for which Peppers is not well suited.

Carr may be some things, but he's not a sissy. That's just a desperate word spoken by a desperate person basing his statements on 1 lousy game.

And it was a very lousy game.

How was I trying to discredit him? In the 3-4 he would have to play as an outside linebacker. So,would you want a hybrid DE OLB, our the number one quaterback in the draft? Also, we were an expansion franchise, you can find tweener DE's' all through the draft (Babin) and we picked alot of veterens on defense during the expansion draft.

Sissy is the last word that can describe David Carr, him as a person or his play. That's just plain r****ded.

David Carr is great and will prove all the doubters incredibly wrong.

I have a problem with this notion that the Texans couldn't find a place for a guy like Julius Peppers. The guys a pro bowl stud, you could play him at DE, he's strong enough, and you could play him at OLB, he's athletic enough. The guy was an NBA prospect. Like I said, no disrespect to Carr, Peppers is the only guy I would've taken in that draft over him, but I will take a tweener DE (who happens to be one of the top five defensive players in the league) over our so far avg qb. Peppers has more impact on games even comparing him to a qb.

Babins is no where near the player Peppers is.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, David Carr is not the sole reason that the Texans lose. Nor is he the sole reason they win. There have been many games that Carr put them in a position to win, but the defense blew it. There have been games where the coaching blew it. Carr makes mistakes, yes; but so does Peyton Manning. Manning hasn't taken the Colts to the Super Bowl. Does that make Manning a loser? Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson and Kurt Warner are all Super Bowl champion quarterbacks. Would you like to trade Carr for one of them straight up. Their winners right.

The Patriots have proven that it is a team that wins the Super Bowl. Put a team around Carr and with the right coaching system, he too can be part of a Super Bowl championship.

I completely agree. It seems to me like Carr has excellent leadership skills, and above average talent. There have been many teams recently who have won Super Bowls with QBs who are great leaders and decision makers. With the right players around him, he can win us a ring, no doubt in my mind.

Hair, No Hair, who cares? Wake me up when it's September 11th, I'm hungry for some buffalo wings.
