guys, just wondering if any of you know what to do about spyware?
apparently my computer has been infected with spyware, so ive been told by a technical support guy from my isp.
when i click on a certain link at my ISP's website, it wont go to the actual site, it goes to anoher which has nothing to do with the site im originally trying to get to.

does this make sense to any1? is that what spyware is?

how do i get rid of it. ive been told to search for 'spyware remover' and download it

    thanks guys

Hands down the best anti-spyware package I've used is giant antispyware which is at

    http://www.giantcompany.com/

It is CWS.Shredder, ad-aware, and spybot all combined in one. You can get a fifteen day trial for free in which you can clean your computer. After that it is $30.00

The program also has a real-time spyware scanner that works like an anti-virus program, stopping spyware from attacking your computer.

I would add another program to the list: SpywareBlaster. It doesn't remove existing spyware, but it does keep spyware from getting onto your computer in the first place. Spybot does this as well, but they're the ones who recommend SpywareBlaster on Spybots "Immunize" screen. It works with Internet Explorer and Firefox.
