Thought I'd let the BBS know that there is a new version of Spybot Search and Destroy out today -- it's awesome. The Spybot S+D website is down, but Flexbeta has a download link here. I just ran it and it's got some very neat features -- should really help those of you who still won't use Firefox, as it blocks some IE ActiveX stuff and other spyware programs. Also, FINALLY, the proxy settings for updates works. Again, as awesome as the new Spybot S+D is, it likely still won't take care of everything -- you should do all of these things to really stop spyware. Spybot Search and Destroy Adaware Mozilla Firefox Use both Spybot and Adaware to get rid of spyware on your machine, and use Mozilla Firefox as your web browser. It blocks popups, doesn't let sites install ActiveX spyware, and has a lot of great features.
After I saw the link on Flexbeta, I tried to get it using the update function within the program. Didn't work. Showed that there were no updates.
Yeah, it's up to date as of today -- it blocks/finds a lot more than Spybot S+D 1.2. You'll need to download the whole program to get the new features (it's worth it).
