I've never heard of him, therefore he must be a complete scrub.

He was pretty awful against an undersized rockets front court in the preseason.

This guy was supposed to be the reason Scola was expendable to them

I thought Oberto and having the rights to Tiago Splitter were the reasons they felt OK trading Scola.

Actually, they traded Scola because they drafted Splitter.

The Spurs have been in a dry spell for finding draft gems, after Ginobili and Parker. Their drafting really took a big hit when they lost Presti and Pritchard.

The Trailblazers and Thunder have stolen the Spur's brains.

True - Sam Presti has a really keen eye for draft value.

How long has Pritchard been at the Blazers though?

crazy pontential but bad work ethic he runs the floor like a guard and has great hands but he seems not too interested but maybe the spurs did this to show a sign to mihinmi which he should be back next season which he says he wants to stay a spurs and he's only 22

Pritchard worked for the Spurs in 2001-2003. They got 3 great players in 2 years. The 3rd year they didn't draft for themselves. After 2003, they didn't draft any good players.

I am not counting 2009, as those players haven't had a full season yet.

    2001
    Tony Parker(great)
    Robertas Javokas
    Bryan Bracey

    2002
    John Salmons(great)
    Luis Scola(great)
    Randy Holcomb

    2003
    Leandro Barbosa(draft rights traded)

They did a great job in 2001 and 2002 with late draft picks and stayed out of 2003.

    The drafts afterwards have sucked.

    2004
Beno Udrih(mediocre but in the league)
Romain Sato(bust, signed, never played, waived by February)
Sergei Karaulov(bust, played in summer league, never signed)

    2005
    Ian Mahinmi

    2006
    Damir Markota(draft rights traded)

    2007
    Tiago Splitter(never came over)
    Marcus Williams(bust)
    Giorgos Printezi(bust)

    2008
George Hill(medicore, too early to tell if he will be better)
    Goran Dragic(draft rights traded)
    James Gist(bust)

    2009
DeJuan Blair(undetermined, based on his knees)
    Jack McClinton
    Nando de Colo

It's too early to say if he will be the next big man walking injury or a dependable contributor.

He was drafted by the Mavs with no trade.

    Jack McClinton, waived.

Nando de Colo, drafted with the Rocket's pick from the scola trade.

I wish the Rockets had gotten De Colo instead of Taylor.

Ok,thanks. I thought the Spurs sent them the 29th pick in the 2003 draft, which the Mavs used to select him. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

De Colo isn't that good. Llull is better than him. De Colo is a little bit faster, but he isn't as good a passer as Llull.

I don't know if they acquired the pick by the Spurs. The Spurs never selected him. The Mavericks already had the pick on draft day and selected him. If the pick was acquired in a prior season, I wouldn't know.

I just know the spurs didn't have that 29th pick on draft night. They did trade the 28th pick(Barbosa) to Phoenix for the 30th pick in 2005..
