103-84 Mavericks. Just after the war of words between Cuban and Barkley/Smith, the "softcakes" Dallas just proved they could play defense against the best defensive team in the NBA while maintaning their offense. Mark Cuban doesn't look stupid after all.
We need a guy like Josh Howard or a Marques Daniels on our team. We need heart on the Rockets, we need toughness and could use a bit more of physical play instead of the talented, but softcake players we have (collectively speaking), at least until Sura gets back/if he gets back.
The Mavs also played great defense in their stretch run last season. They even dominated the Pistons one game in Detroit with strangling defense. In the playoffs they left the defense behind, luckily won their series against us and got torched by the Suns in the next round. If beating the Spurs today gives the Mavs a mistaken sense of confidence, fine with me. That team could end up coming apart at the seams before the season is over.

The Mavs got better overall as a team by losing Finely and Nash. Strange? Well, they might not have the greatest offensive talent around anymore, but they still have a sound offense with a much improved defense, thanks ainly to the young guys like Howard and Daniels and others. It just shows what you can do when you have good scouting like the Spurs and Mavs.
so they beat the spurs ooh wow big deal. we beat the spurs last season too. when the Mavs sweep the season series against the Spurs then we can give mavs some credit. plus im still a little bitter about the playoffs
