Not earth-shattering, but this is a decent pick up. The Spurs should not be counted out.

yep, i just saw it on espn. I can't wait till the suns game when they announce at halftime either artest or miller is a rocket. also, does this hurt SA chances of getting artest? I assume SA traded cap space.

Interesting... they gave away the 2009 pick, that means it's unlikely for them to be able to give away the 2008 and 2010 pick... unless, that is, they have another 2009 pick from another team.

By acquiring Thomas, the Spurs get some needed size to help them counter Phoenix’s Shaquille O’Neal and Houston’s Yao Ming.

lol dont recall kurt thomas as being big more like tall skinny and jacks up threes. yao will have a field day, elson was more athletic in my opinion

A better backup big man for the Spurs. Now, the Rockets are f**ked.

Maybe you are thinking of Tim Thomas?

Kurt Thomas is a bruiser with a decent 15 ft jump shot but that is about as far out as he will go. He is a big, strong defender who doesn't shy away from contact. He isn't skinny.

He fits right in with the Spurs.

except elson suffered from sucking. good pick up by the spurs especially if they stackhouse barry.
