texas fans in general are very classy people. thaxs for bringing this2our attention about these spurs fans. Rudy is a person everyone admires and respects. Its very sad to see him go through something like cancer. Please Get better Rudy, We need you, not only as a coach, but as a person.

I hate to say this because I don't think you can be a Spurs AND Rockets fans (at least not equally), but this post just tells me that the Spurs fans match their organization in class. It's no news to anyone that the Spurs run the classiest organization in the league. With great characters in their org. like S. Elliot (broadcaster now?), D. Robinson, T. Duncan, etc. it's not much of a surprise to me that their fans would be sensitive, classy, intelligent as well.

Thanks Spurs fans... for providing a great rival, and here's to hoping we can provide a great rival for you in the years to come. I mean, I ONLY love the Rockets... but wouldn't it kick ass if the two best teams in the league were in Texas?

p.s. I'm not counting the Mavs because Dallas is in Oklahoma, not Texas, right?

But once you go outside of the state, forget about it...

Every team has some classy fans and some retarted ass fans (well except for the Raiders). Spurs and Rockets are no different. If God forbid Popavich had come down with cancer we would be wishing him luck as well.

I second that. Our fans need to care more about Rudy then our basketball team right now.

Actually, Dallas is a displaced piece of Virginia. Austin dismembered suburb of San Francisco; Wichita Falls IS actually part of Oklahoma, but Aggies draw most of the maps.

Ditto. I never quite understand how some Rockets fans would call out Rudy's character as a person (not just his coaching skills) and bash him on personal terms, while the coaches, players, and even fans of other teams respect him as a classy guy.

Well, I think a true showing of class would be to bench Duncan, Tony Parker and Ginobili for the Rockets-Spurs match-up. That would SURELY be a sign of respect, right? Right?! :D

    Thanks in advance, Spurs!

I hope our teams defeats the Spurs tonight as a way of reciprocating this kind gesture from Spurs fans. Could there be a better way to say thanks you? ;)

While not equally by any stretch, I am a Spurs fan, It is hard not to be. All those years the Jazz were great, they had floppers and criers and elbow throwers. All those years the Bulls and Lakers (recenlty) have been good, they've had arrogant players and coaches. Meanwhile, the Spurs have done it contiuously with classy people, fans, and organization.

Assuming the Rockets don't win this year, and assuming a team from the West is going to win, I'm hoping it is first the Wolves (I really like KG), then Spurs, then Kings, then Mavs, then Blazer, than a tie between Lakers and Jazz.
