Ok I get a 20% discount with Sprint from my employer. So I'm with Sprint for another year on a contract. I currently pay $34.99 for 400 minutes and like 300 texts. I THOUGHT I could pay $9.99 extra a month to add my fiancee. So I look this up, and if we want to SHARE minutes to TALK ONLY (no text), its $69.99. If we want to TALK and TEXT it is $99.99 a month. Now heres my solution to this F'ed UP problem..... wouldn't it be cheaper to get a SEPERATE single line with their basic plan ($21.99 per month for me) where I can talk AND text??????? Whats up with the prices on their share plans?!?!!

    sprint sucks in general..

Although, if you've been with them for a long time you should try talking to customer service. Sometimes if you have been a customer for a certain amount of time they will try to accomodate your needs. Like maybe they'll give you texting on the cheaper plan. Though, I wouldn't count on this. Just try calling in and acting very dissatisfied, at the very least its worth a shot...

Yeah you will be amazed at what companies will do to keep their customers. I remember I called to cancel XM Satellite Radio and the guy gave me 2 free months.

Its not just Sprint. Verizon's cheapest family share plan starts at $69.99 as well. You save if you have more than 2 people in it otherwise it may not be worth it.

Get a hookup with somebody who works for Sprint to get on their employee plan.

I pay $18 a month for 500 minutes, unlimited texting and data.

    :)

We've had the Sprint family plan for probably longer than 10 years. 5 phones, 3000 combined monthly minutes, unlimited texts, free domestic roaming...$100/month.

Are you kidding me? My mom has worked for ATT for like her whole life (well SWB at one point, they merged. Well actually the separated. Then merged. anyways) and the benefits aren't anywhere near that good. I think its like 30% off a phone or something. And thats about it.

What annoys me is that I managed to get a recurring discount out of them, but I have to call every month at least twice to get them to apply the discount like they're supposed to.

For some reason, they can't get it to automatically credit.

I still have a little over a year left on my current contract. After that, I'm finally gone. I would pay more to be with someone I don't have to call multiple times to get even the simplest thing done correctly.

Sprint Scores a 79 in Latest Customer Service Survey of Wireless Providers. The lowest a provider can score is 70. WOW!

    http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/103210

For the first time in four years, T-Mobile is not at the top of J.D. Power's survey on wireless carrier customer service satisfaction. The bragging rights for 2008 now go to Verizon.

The rankings concern how well and how quickly carriers resolve customer service calls, not the quality of phone service. (So all those complaints about dropped calls and poor coverage don't apply here.)

J.D. Power's ranking system this year gives Verizon 103 points, mini-major Alltel a 102 score, and T-Mobile close behind with 100. AT&T earned a 97 rating and perennial laggard Sprint Nextel got a 79. (The minimum score you can get is a 70.)

Putting aside Sprint's sad, last-place finish, what's going on here? Is Verizon getting better, T-Mobile getting worse, or everyone simply getting better at dealing with customer service issues? It's probably not the latter: J.D. Power notes that due to the increasing complexity of wireless handsets, the average customer now spends longer on the phone making support calls than ever before. Longer calls mean longer waits for help: The average customer will spend 4.4 minutes on hold with his wireless carrier each year, up a third since 2003, and about half of all customers will have to call for help at some point.

If there's overall good news on the service front, it involves the number of calls it takes to resolve issues: Last year the average was 1.91 calls required to take care of a customer problem, but this year that number has plummeted to 1.76 calls per issue. Keeping customers from having to call you for help at all may be best, but keeping them from having to call back is pretty good, too.

XM Sat radio is probably the easiest to haggle with. They offered 20/m or whatever their standard is, I said no..they offered 6/m I said no...they go all the way down to 2$/month and I finally take it.

Man... I pay 30 bucks/mo. for my SERO plan. What's your secret?

In other news, they're letting me trade in my Mogul for another phone (minus or plus the difference). Diamond comes out on Sept. 2.

Who said their Customer Service sucked.... It's not as bad if you email.

    yeeeaaaaah boiiii.

And I called their customer service a couple times, once to get some help with my internet not connecting, and the lady was really friendly.

Maybe she's the only good one.

    Who knows.

    Oh well.
