In 1997 I was at UofH, after transferring from UT the previous year I had a dream about red orange looking fireballs falling out the sky, the whole sky was shades of the color A few months later I drove to the Texas Relays. There was a bad storm., lot of wind and lightning I was driving up through Bastrop while it was bad. That nextt day a bunch of cars including mine were covered with that red dirt through that area I have another going through storm on way to Austin story, a great memory with my brother on way to pick up sister for summer break
When I was a kid, my grandparents owned some property in Schulenberg. We would go there as a weekend getaway (which didn't mean a lot to a very young boy, far removed from life's stresses). When we reached this point on I-10, my grandfather would move his hand in the air from left to right and say, "The vale of Schulenberg!". He died when I was 10. It's such a small thing that I remember, but is also such a fond memory. It felt like Pampaw. It felt like Texas.
wasn't in central texas, but running thru the halls of spring forest middle school, literally a few years ago... good times. life was simple back then, wasn't worried about the pressure of having a gf yet.
The thing in remember about spring in central Texas is the wildflowers. They were my mom’s favorite thing about Texas. I was really fortunate last year when I was visiting for the Eclipse to get to see them.
