    - A lot of talk about how good the Mavs are. Blah, blah, blah.

    - When the Rockets shoot the ball well they can beat anybody because the defense is always there.

    - Rebounding is good despite his thought it would be a weakness when the season started due to lack of size.

    - TMac is playing probably as good or better than anyone in the league on both ends of the court.

    - TMac is the best passer of his size he has ever seen in the league along with Magic Johnson.

    - Caller asked about trading for a big body to help out. CD said that is what they are trying to do. Asking too much from Deke right now playing 35 minutes for another couple of months.

    - He is encouraged after watching Yao's workout yesterday.

    - Have not come across a lot of people wirh more fight and grit than Sura. Gave it one really good shot to come back this year bust it just doesn't look like he is going to make it back.

    - JVG's contract will be addressed after the season because they don't want any distractions during the season. Extending his contract is up to JVG and what he wants to do after the season.

    - Organization likes the job JVG has done the last 4 seasons.

    - JVG has addressed recently how much he and his family loves the city.

    - Asked gut feeling if they will make a deal by the deadline - Trying to do something but expressed that he is worried about making a big deal that would mess with the chemistry.

    - Les Alexander has talked to him about his staying with the organization in some capacity.

As someone who has not been completey enthralled with JVG, I will have to re-evaluate my position.

As for the quotes in your sig McGrady, I can't help that people obcess about my honesty and righteousness.

All that being said, CD has proven to be less than truthful with the media, and with some incomming players.

Nice to hear that the organization is trying to make a trade by the deadline. I believe some deal will get done but it won't be a huge trade that will mess with the current chemistry.

However, plans have been complicated by the death of Anna Nicole Smith.

We don't need a big deal at this point, we just need an extra big body to rack up the fouls, or just to put in a stand for 10 minutes.

Having Atkins as a backup pg isn't such a bad idea either. Getting an extra athletic 3/4 might also be an option, since most teams play small ball nowadays anyways.

very true, but he didn't get into specifics. when he says that 35MPG for deke over the next few months is too much to ask... i believe him. when he says we need to find another big body before deke goes down, i believe him.

will it be a big trade for a player that we will all be happy with? probably not.

i expect a scrub who has size and can either block or rebound. someone who won't have a problem with being out of the rotation when yao gets back.

    Wrong - but hilarious!

I hope they're looking at back up bigs/point guards. I love our team, but I still feel like we need a piece or two. If nothing gets done I suppose I'm fine with it. We're good enough to give anybody a run in the playoffs, and then in the off-season players ought to be lined up to take our MLE and LLE.

good point. we have enough to make a playoff run as is. however the reason for useing our TE to bring in a big is to insure that deke lasts until the playoffs. IMO that's more important than our need for a backup PG.

we NEED to stay in the 5th seed, if not pass the spurs for the 3rd. otherwise we may be in for another first round exit. sure we could give the mavs, suns, or spurs a run, but there is no guarantee that we beat them.

losing deke, or having him wear down before yao gets back will cost us games and seeding.

also, i'm pretty sure that with a good playoff run the team will look to resign bonzi with the MLE. leaving us with the LLE and maybe and injured player excpetion from sura having to retire.

then again, maybe bonzi will choose not to opt out this summer since he hasn't done anything this season to up his worth on the market.

i would rather bring back a torraye braggs or the like as a temp, and then deal for a qualty backup pg, rather than spend valuable resourcs on a temp that -- if things go according to plan, will have no role on this team

Actually, why not Loren Woods from the Austin Toros?

He is averaging like 13 points and 11 rebounds a game.

    And he is 7'2"....

He has looked great, especially on defense.

Loren woods the kid from arizona that was on the wolves for a few seasons? from what i can recall form watching those pac-10 games woods did not have the highest of bball iqs often causing him to get lost on offense and defense if the defense is not man to man.

not a bad option but i think jvg would want a player that has a higher bball iq

i was at UA while Woods was there. He is a quiet, humble guy that did try to work to get better. he had good timing on his blocks ,although being so long helped a lot. The guy did have confidence issues and he could just never put on weight. he was somehwat productive in toronto a few years ago...i didnt know he was in austin.

side note, i was actually at the game where he tied the block record (14)...although i still argue that they didnt count on shot that he got a finger on, but thats probably just the homer wildcat in me. Bear Down.

    It's okay though. We need a tall, smart wide-body -- not a boob. :D
