TRIED TO RECAP AS BEST AS I COULD Was getting close to resigning again in Greece that would have made it harder to get him later. Hope he is ready to contribute. Big adjustment. Chance to be in rotation, athletic, leader, 15 pts and 63% FG this season, good at pick and roll offense and can get in the paint against anybody. Not a great year for free agents. Feel very fortunate to add the guys they have so far. Biggest thing that is left is there are a few free agents left but trades are what they are looking for. Anyone coming out of Europe has a problem with pick and roll defense. JVG has talked with Spanoulis today and JVG feels defense is more about heart and hustle. He is fast and has quick feet. Defense can be learned. Under a lot of pressure not to sign with the Rockets but thought it was a good time and opportunity. As soon as the Japan games are over, he will be in town learning the NBA game. Already sent him a playbook and DVD. Adam again mentioned that they are closing in on a deal with Lucas III
Thanx for the recap. Trades mean "equal value". "Equal value" can be a TE, absorbing contract(s), and/or equal court value. Frankly, regrettably but truthfully a trade needs to be from the first two. I doubt a trade can be/will be effected until AI and AH are both sorted.
Thanks for the recap, this is interesting. Some of the rumors actually might be true. Something brewing in LA?
Sounds good to me. I like that we're still looking into getting JL3, and probably as the primary backup PG (considering CD said VSpan has a "chance" to make the rotation...doesn't sound like a primary backup to me). I'm also really happy that they're pushing for trades. Common sense tells you that the only people they'd really be looking to trade are Howard, Head, and maybe Bowen. Alston is an outside possibility, but it would be hard to get a starting caliber PG without throwing in Howard and then we are even thinner at PF, so I doubt he's going anywhere. We could also obviously use the TE, of course. If the rumors about Korver for the TE are true, I'd be quite pleased. Lastly, it's nice to see that VSpan chose to come over despite pressure to stay. Shows that he's not coming over here just to fu(k around. He seems to be taking the opportunity very seriously.
what's really interesting about that quote is the fact that our roster looks pretty balanced right now. what are they looking for in a trade and who is on the way out?
Still need another legit swing man, perferably taller than 6'4, and can play SG, and SF, (lol, PF 2). Cant think of anyone.
Thanks for the recap. The trade comment is what I found most interesting. Who are we shopping and who are we targeting?
If we can just get rid of Juwan by some miracle, the offseason will be complete. I'd rather have Hayes starting any day. Other than the 4, I really like our team balance wise. Having a Euro on your team is like the new high schooler.
thx for the recap, ogrodaeioebxftrbsrtbhehrewitz. i like the idea of trades being what they are looking for. hopefully something involving the jho.
I find it interesting as well, especially since this is his third public comment about triying to trade in less than a week (couple of interviews Friday after the Snyder trade). Just a gut feeling, but I don't think CD would say something like this unless there were some things in the works. Not saying anything is imminent, but certainly sounds intriguing.
So far, there are the unsubstantiated rumors of 1. Juwan(+Head?) to Lakers for Mihm and McKie 2. TPE for Damon Jones 3. TPE for Korver. Those kinda sound plausible.. I'll bet there are a few others out there that depends on which way the Wilcox, Gooden, Harrington, KMart, Magloire, and Iverson situations work out.
Very interesting, the "Shane Battier" trade was described as "win Now" strategy. Then the Mike James disaster happened. Now we seem to be doing"value" deals. I have a feeling we will not use our TE this year.
