What a disappointment! I got home this evening and thought I would pull up 740 for astros radio - went to the website, clicked the link and received a pop-up stating the following: My initial reaction was that this was due to 740 carrying an MLB broadcast (which I have learned to live with) HOWEVER, I went to several different online radio stations and I received the same freakin msg. What's goin on? Is there no way to listen to Houston radio while living overseas? Are there ways to get around this? And while I'm asking questions, can I find a way to stream rockets, texans, astros games, etc. online? It's clear that they identify IPs Any help would be appreciated!! thanks
Hello, and welcome to the 21st century ..... Seriously man, you "can't" listen to NBA, MLB, or NFL games through radio station's broadcasts. It's a subscription that you have to pay for through the leagues. It's been like this for a few years now. You used to be able to log on and listne to their stream 30min or so before the broadcast of the game and still be able to listen to the game. But I'm not sure if you can do that anymore. Oh, and the Stros are winning 5-1.
I don't think you even read my post. My question was - can you stream Houston radio (or US radio in general) overseas? Why the change? The point on games was if anyone has found a way to get around the restrictions of mlb, nfl, nba.
Looks to me like he read your post just fine. And he answered you. You can listen to houston radio online, but the games are gonna be blacked out. If you want to listen to the games, you'll need to buy the audio subscription for like 14 bucks for the season or whatever it costs. It's not like KTRH is streaming the game for certain regions and blocking it for others based on your IP. When the game comes on their stream either cuts off or cuts to alternate programming. That's true for people in Houston as well as people anywhere else.
