Sad end to a 26 year marriage. I realize this probably happens on a smaller scale in divorce settlements all the time, but there is just something not right about the woman getting THAT much in alimony when it was basically a mutual divorce and they had tried counseling.

Supporting his kid through college is one thing, but having to fork over cash so his wife can live a lavish lifestyle and join "any country club of her choice" is ridiculous.

I really don't understand the divorce customs in this country.

Jim Nantz making 7 million a year is even more ridiculous.

Idiot. Should have filed for divorce in Texas. NO ALIMONY!!!! (Yes, there is spousal maintenance but I SERIOUSLY doubt she would have qualified.)

When you think about it, he's everywhere on CBS. He does the College Basketball in the Spring, Golf pretty much year-around, and then of course the NFL in the fall.

"Only" 3.2 million of his income is from his duties at CBS.

If he's making $7m/year, $1/m alimony after the breakdown of a 26 year marriage might be the going rate. Hopefully there are provisions in there in case his income goes down.

Crazy rich people. He seems OK with it, so I guess I'll let it go.

I don't condone excessive alimony, but I also don't condone cheating on your wife.

I didn't know that a parent could be legally required to pay college tuition for a child over the age of 18.

Going rate or not, you would think this woman had no capability of making a living for herself based on what they are giving her. I mean geez...she's not his dependent anymore.

It's just a shame that she gets a free ride for life just because her marriage fell apart. It just should not work that way.

"Although Nantz, 50, acknowledged he started dating a 29-year-old woman before the divorce was final, the judge concluded the marriage deteriorated years earlier and “this remote event in no way contributed to the breakdown of the marriage.”"

they were in a partnership for 26 years. she shouldn't be left to live a lifestyle she is not accustomed to regardless of how much she did or did not contribute financially.
