It seems like every time this year Dallas hate is brought up they(Marc and Rich) say it's because Houston fans are jealous because the Cowboys won some Superbowls. Sometimes a caller will explain that the Cowboy hate has nothing to do with the Cowgirls winning and they (Marc and Rich) agree until it's brought up the next time. Then Marc and Rich are once again saying that Houston is just jealous.
What exactly do you mean? I understand the part of people saying Houston is jealous, but the rest of the paragraph didn't make sense to me.
I am not jealous Dallas, I do hate them though. Down here in Victoria, we get more cowboys coverage then the Texans or the Oilers did too. Two weeks ago when the Texans played Denver, it wasn't on tv, but the cryboys were.
I know it gets old, but what are you gonna do? I'm about as anti-Cowboy as you can get. Why, you ask??? No real good reason. I just enjoy hating them. I get off on it.
What's funny is that Marc and Rich will say that people in Dallas don't hate Houston. That the hate only runs north on I-45. That was not my experience at all at college. Lots of Dallas guys who thought Houston was the pits. Who bad-mouthed it all the time, and rooted for Dallas teams and whoever Houston was playing. It doesn't surprise me that Marc and Rich don't have that experience...but frankly, I think they're wrong. Chance- correct them on that.
I edited the post does that help. I don't understand the jealousy part. I have never met someone that hates the Cowboys because they won. I hear a ton of reason but I've never heard someone say I hate them because they won and my team didn't.
what else can you expect from a homer (mark), and someone who is a yankees/lakers fan (bandwagoner rich)???
It was definitely that way when I lived there. I would get **** talked to me mercilessly when I wore my Houston gear to the bars.
And then there's what I heard today We (Dallas) are too good to hate Houston. That is so beneath us........
I just never liked seeing an opposing teams Jersey being worn by someone in Houston. Cowboy jerseys were everywhere during their hayday. I remember asking someone I worked with years ago (who is from Houston) why he roots for the Cowboys. His response was because Houston sucks. I then responded "With fans like you, who needs enemies"
I'm so incredibly jealous of Dallas, I think I'll fro out my hair, take out a loan so I can keep up with the joneses, make demands to local officials that harris becomes a dry county, and only dine at great chain resturaunts like Chili's and TGI Friday's.
I think Dallas is probably already making plans to counter Houston's claim of "America's largest church." You know that sticks in their craw.
it sure did. I hate dallas, not because they won.....but because they hate us. It's mutual. If you are going to talk trash about my city, be ready to have it flung back at you. I went to TCU my freshman year of college and I saw the hate first hand.
Rich and Marc are....well, they're no morning show or night shift. When you let in calls about the Shocker, then 2 minutes later you're talking about the NL Wildcard BLOB, and they're adding "splooge" sound effects, for about 2 minutes...yeah. That show has gone to hell. Of the 3 options of pairings, I'd take Marc/Dave over any combo of Rich/Dave/Marc. I enjoy a little sillyness every once in a while, but when it dominates the 5-7 hours, it's kinda well, unappealing when you want to actually hear them talk about, you know, sports. And talk about it somewhat well .
Well Cowboy fans would get **** talked to them mercilessly if they wore their gear to Houston bars, but then most of the guys in Houston bars are probably Cowboy fans, too. LOL! Anyway, in my workplace, the topic of Houston sports rarely comes up... and if it does, it's because I bring it up.
I don't know where they're from but I don't think it's Dallas. Marc and Rich are the host of the drive time players on 610 here in Houston. Whats weird is they were talking with the Cowboys' play by play guy and asked him about Houston and other citys hating them. He was saying it was the arrogance that Dallas has until Rich said it was because we were jealous.
