For those who have a 56k modem

    3. Magic trade Mike Miller, Jeryl Sasser and Andrew DeClerq to the Rockets for Kelvin Cato and Kenny Thomas. The Rockets benefit from this deal by getting Miller, and by being able to remove $3 million from their payroll when DeClerq becomes a free agent next season. They also finally wash their hands of Cato.

Any Rockets blurbs are good in the offseason!

Not too bad of a deal. I don't know if that will happen but I wouldn't have a problem w/ dropping Cato for a starting SF and we know either KT or Mo is gonna go and we get a back up C.

Not quite sure if I like this trade or not. Besides Miller, I don't like the players. Declreq avg about 2ppg in 10 mpg. If we did this, Ming would probably start, leaving two bad centers to back him up. (sorry, Creampuff man.:( ) Sasser is a 6'6 guard, but his numbers are a little small too, also due to mpg. That said, I would like to get some where under the cap, and Miller does look pretty good. The two other guys could also suprise, considering their low amount of mpg with Orlando. I'm kind of split on this one.

Im torn on this trade also....
I think we actually can't afford to trade Cato.............
It does clear a logjam at the 4 but Collier isn't ready to back up anybody. Mike Miller is pretty dope though....

They called KT "one of the league's most underrated players." It's true, I think KT would be a bada$$ in the east, he's too small to play with the bigmen of the west.

It's also not a deal the Magic would ever consider. :p

Cato's not better than Keon Clark or, for that matter, anyone they could sign to a reasonable deal next offseason. They definately would not give up Mike Miller to get him and KT, considering the other deals reportedly actually on the table involving Miller.

Deal sucks for us! Miller didn't impress me last year and the other two throw-ins aren't worth Cato & KT.

Cato+K.T. for Bonzi Wells would be better.

don't tell me Bonzi is undersized or we already have Mobley. he can play both 2 and 3. he's very strong and physical player, also plays good defense. given 38min per he'll avg. 20pt, 7reb, 3asi, and 2stl. he's also a .469/.384 shooter

I don't care he's 6'5 at least I know a Francis, Mobley, Wells 1-2-3 is much better than Rudy's Mooch, Francis, Mobley small lineup.
you can say Miller is 3 inchs taller than Wells but who's the better rebounder and defender?

we then need to re-sign Willis back to start at center for 1 more year. or Cato+K.T.+Mooch for Wells+D. Davis

Portland is seeking for a Center (they even trying to sign Sabonis out of retirement) maybe they'll give Cato another try. K.T. could be a perfact backup for Rasheed and sometimes Pippen. they just traded Kerr and Barkley so they can use Mooch to backup Stoudmire.

I think Seattle has made it clear that a sign n' trade for Lewis is not an option. even if they accept sign n' trade I think Taylor+Morris or Taylor+draft pick is the most we'd give up.

in the other hand, Portland is willing to take big contracts. they have acquired Woods and A. Danniels this summer so maybe they'll consider sign n' trade Wells to add more big men to compete w/ the power houses in playoffs.

Cato + KT does not = Miller. What do we need Miller for when we have Boki waiting in the wings? The guy who wrote this article is looking at our team as if it was at the bottom of the league, trying to save salary by trading away good players. KT's #'s are better than Miller's, though he averaged one point less, he gets more rebounds and is a better defender. This article has me flustered, this guy is pretty much showing no respect to our team by thinking we would benefit from a move like that. Miller is gonna ask for a max extension next year, bank on that, this guy is going to play the Rookie of the Year card for sure. KT is cheaper and more productive. I'd like to move Cato's contract, but we need a good backup center and that's what he is, even though he is ridiculously overpriced as a player, it is also equal to the current market value for any 7 footer now a days.

The only way I could see the trade going down would be if they took a SF back. We don't need 4 on the roster. TMO would have to go. Is it possible with the CBA for both players to be signed-and-traded? (both being KT and Miller). Miller's a good player but Houston doesn't need him for one year. I like the deal if it looks more like this: KT+Cato+TMO for Miller+DeClerq+ draft pick.
I don't know how the trade would work but Miller's 3 point shooting is verruh nice. Hey maybe they want Glen Rice instead of TMO...sure!

How about I tell you that Por would never make that trade?

KT, would never get the ball and for him to be effective he has to have plays ran for him. He will be option #10 in Por.

What use does Por, or anyone have for Cato?

So, Por trades a starter for 2 backups?

Guys, you have tor ealize that we need Cato to play a lot of minutes in front of Ming. If we trade him, and I doubt the Rockets will, then we better get someone better than DeClerq back.

Plus, with Boki and Rice on our roster, there will be few minutes for Mike Miller.

I like the idea, but we should get back a betetr C than DeClerq, and a SG not a SF.

That's what I was worried about also. I saw Miller could play guard, and I assume he could play backup to Mobley. But someone said Miller would want the max, or near it, next year so that killed my idea. Not to mention that he may be bad at SG.

A lot of people want to trade Cato, but unless you want Collier getting serious minutes, this isn't a good idea. In order to trade him, we must A)get a good C in return, or B)Get Willis back. Well, that's my opinion anyway.

This deal would be perfect for the rockets if we never drafted Nachbar. Miller has one of the sweetest shots in the league and is getting better everyday. Remember he came out of school when he was only a freshman so this really should be his senior season is college which goes to show you his potential. And we would also get ride of Cato's contract.

But I'm a Nachbar supporter so lets see what he can do.
