Spoilers ok so everybody who didn't know the story know this is a spoiler. and i even tell some things who are in the movie so if you DON'T WAN TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE MOVIE DO NOT READ THIS I read somewhere that Faramir character is verry different in the movie than in the books. In the books he is a verry wise and noble man who hate war, but is forced to fight. And he makes the wise disicion to let Frodo and Sam go to mount doom. He is very difirent than his brother But in the movie his character is like Boromir, he wants the ring and he takes them captured. i do not like this change i liked Faramir alot in the books. Does anybody else hear this and if so what do you think of the change? i will love the movie, buit i think i do not like this small part.but i can't wait to see the movie I can't wait to see the fight between the ents and Islegard. It is suppossed to be great.
It is true about Faramir. He takes Frodo and Sam hostage, and takes them to Osgiliath (I've heard). They also capture Gollum (as in the book). After a speach from Sam about Boromir and his weakness, Faramir lets them go. A flying Nazgul tries to take the ring from Frodo, and is shot at by Faramir's men, turning it back to Mordor. The last scene is of Gollum following Frodo and Sam to Mordor, muttering to himself 'she will finish them off....'. Talk about your spine chilling moments. And, yes, we will see the Ents smash up Isengard and stomp all over the Orcs!
If that's true, that sucks. Faramir is supposed to have high blood like his father, and unlike Boromir. Sucks that PJ and co. ruined him.
what do you mean by High Blood. Boromir is like his father Faramir isn't. Theyr father does not like Faramir. atleast he like boromir better
He does take them hostage in the books too, and asks them why they are traveling where they are...he even says that he would kill them, if he does not like their answer. DaDakota
i know But in the movie he takes them to Gondor atleast i heard. And i've heard that Faramirs character resembles his brothers. And that isn't wright
Obviously not a true fan. In Return of the King, Gandalf describes Faramir as having the blood of Numenor run nearly true in his veins, like his father and unlike Boromir.
thanks. i read the book twice, but i read it the first time last year.so i'm not a die hard fan,i'm starting to get a real fan.i'm starting to learn more. But isn't it true that Faramir's was gentle of nature. And didn't his father dislike him because he liked Gandalf and saw him as a father figure? Denethor didn't like gandalf, and hated to see that his youngest son did like him. And that Faramir hated the war?? and wasn't Boromir Denethors favorite?
Denathor had been corrupted by looking into the Palantir too much. It drove him to madness (suicide, and near death of Faramir). His father was noble, but wanted the ring as well. For the same purpose as Boromir wanted it. In the book, Faramir didn't even want to look at the ring.
Rather than starting a new thread, I'll just add to this one. The latest TTT trailer was aired during Survivor. Now it's all over the Net. Go to The Two Towers- The Final Commercial Some awesome bits of footage. Also look at the frame by frame section for some awesome pics.
You mean to say that this will be the last scene of the movie? If so, then that's really disappointing because I thought book 2 had a great ending perfectly suited for film. Frodo is struck down by the giant spider. Sam, thinking him dead, claims the ring for himself and retreats in sorrow. When he comes back, he sees Frodo isn't dead after all but can only watch in despair as the orcs carry him into their fortress. The great doors swing shut with an ominous thud, leaving Sam outside, alone. The camera slowly pans out from his panic-stricken face to the blasted landscape of Mordor and the film ends. I think that would make for a much better ending than them simply walking off away from Faramir's place.
Just to clarify. There is no Book 1, 2 or 3. Tolkein wrote just one book the publisher broke it up into 3 parts. Carry on !! DD
I'm not disagreeing with you. In the book, Denethor resents Faramir because he is under the tutelage of Gandalf, whereas Boromir wasn't influenced by him. I was just explaining the blood thing. Which personally, I don't understand unless Faramir and Boromir had different mothers. Which is entirely possible.
