We have ~$22 mil in cap for two more days. Let's get two to three solid players with short term contracts (3 years or less) and match Chandler Parsons and we will have a better team than last year. We were close last year. With better chemistry and growth from our young players like Jones we will be right there with the elite of the West.

We need a perimeter defender, a backup big, and a PG. Go to work Morey.

Short of Melo reconsidering this is the best move. Improve the depth. Give me Gasol and Ariza or Deng.

LOL good one, but I'm afraid Melo is after the extra money from the 5 year max contract just like Bosh.

My proposal is the most realistic path for the Rockets to improve the team at this point.

the wining windows for Morey is small, only next 1 or 2 season before Howard could be FA. The realistic approach is to match on Parsons and add some smaller contracts and see how it goes in the beginning of the next season, could do trade in the middle of the season for improving the team.

We don't have $22M in cap. First, the most cap that the Rockets can have while keeping Parsons is <$20M. Also, that <$20M cap room to sign Bosh with was going to require getting rid of Jones, DMo and pretty much every other smaller $ guys on the roster, too. Given that the Bosh deal fell through, the Rockets are probably not going to get rid of all these guys to create cap room unless it's absolutely needed.

Not sure who on the market is even worth doing this for.

So exactly how much cap room do we have right now after the Lin trade. It should still be enough to offer two contracts worth ~8 mil per year right? We are not getting a star. We need depth right now.

Anderson isn't healthy and he will still get dominated by the likes of Blake Griffin, Aldridge, and Duncan. Anderson ain't gonna help much. Rather save money and keep jones

Paul Pierce(7 mil) and Pau Gasol(11 mil). Match Parsons.

If each will take 1.5 less. Sign Jameer Nelson at 3 mil per also.

I like this... Pierce and Gasol would give us a lot of needed championship experience.

    -Trade for Illyasova
    -Sign Deng
    -Match Parsons
    -Use MLE on Carter
    -Sign Books...again..for vet min
    -Backup C for vet min

    Beverley / Brooks
    Harden / Carter
    Parsons / Deng
    Illyasova / TJones
    Howard / Vet Min (

Is that feasible with the cap space we have? Seems close. Also not sure would still have MLE in this scenario.

Only way you make an offer for Bledsoe is a S&T or you let Parsons go and then make the offer for Bledsoe... There is a good chance the Suns match anyway.

Personally I would pursue a trade for Anderson and throw a lot of money at Pierce for one year and see what happens. I think I would let Parsons walk. That allows cap flexibility going forward.

My guess is that Morey explores the trade market for a high priced player tomorrow and if that fails goes for 2 solid free agents.

FWIW I think the Rockets will be improved but it is frustrating having Bosh slip through your fingers.

He would be a good player off of the bench.
