What possible teams would be willing to trade for Tmac?

I am going to throw out Miami.

Okay guys, this is an outsider, trying to find a trade that I think would be interesting for the rockets and the other team. I think Miami is a good partner for the rockets to trade with.

    To Miami for:
    Daequan Cook
    Mark Blount
    Jason Williams

first round pick (top 10 conditional but this year only)

The reason I think this trade could be viable is that miami is desperately looking for a third wheel and might be willing to roll the dice with shaq having 2 more years under contract. They are not sacrificing a whole lot to make this deal, in a sense they are. They are essentially going to pay 11 million to get tmac for 2 years, which is the difference between Mark Blounts contract.

The Rockets will get about 9 million in cap relief, a good young player to replace tmac in Cook and an extra first round pick, which could turn into something down the line if the tmac experience doesn't work out.

those players combined can't offer what tmac provided the rockets. jason williams would be not much of an upgrade over rafer alston. and daequan cook isn't a viable starter in this league. i don't even want to comment on mark blount. And a top 10 pick this year's weak draft I don't think will suffice, unless its the #1 pick then we can get a michael beasley. If I were Morey, I wouldn't pull the trigger.

Jason williams is 9 million or so in cap relief, so that the rockets can get a player in free agency next year. Cook is a very promising shooting guard and an extra first round pick is always good. You never know what you'll get.

Mark Blount is a miami condition. They have to get rid of a bad contract and this would be a perfect way to unload blount. All in all a fair deal.

    what?

You're trading away one of your best players in T-Mac for cap relief, COOK which is substandard NBA talent and Blount just to simply unload him???

Wow, I must applaud your GM skills because they absolutely glisten with genius.

Oh, I get it, you're trying to be a smarta$$ with this ridiculous trade, you got me man, you got me! :D

Do you think that Miami will let us go through their trash can so we can also get an empty bag of Lays and an open bottle of Coke? If yes, then I say to hell with T-Mac!

Not really man. Tmac is a financial burden on teams. He makes near max money and yet he plays maybe half of a season. Who knows if he'll be a round for the playoffs? Why would a team give up a premium for a player like this?

But maybe I am just not seeing what you all see. I mean, I don't see yall being able to win the championship even if he is healthy. I dunno man. I say that added some pieces toward a championship is better than the hope and prayer that tmac stays healthy.

I mean do you think that tmac and a healthy squad of rockets can win it all?

Thats quite possibly the worst T-Mac trade idea I've ever seen.

This is a joke, Miami probably wouldn't do it cause they would feel too bad.

I'm glad the rockets didn't make you the GM, these tmac threads are just getting out of control now

There should be one trade T-Mac thread and it should be stickied. The mainstream media is talking about a trade (Marc Stein today for example) and that's whipping up a frenzy of speculation.

The reason there are so many tmac trade scenarios is because some people feel the rockets need to make a change, that this thing isn't working.

Instead of berating a poster because he posts a trade, think about why they are making it first of all.

I believe that you and a lot of others in this thread see Tmac through blinders. You seem to also have the assumption that the team who gets the best player in a deal always wins.

There are many trades where the team trading away the best player loses, sometimes in a big way.

Take the rockets trading 3 first rounders for what was perceived the best player Eddie Griffin. The dallas cowboys trading Hershel Walker, was, at the time, seen as the worst move ever in football. Walker, at the time, was like Hakeem in his prime. the LT trade. The Bagwell trade. We could go on and on. Sometimes addition by subtraction.

this may be the worst trade idea i've ever read. you're salary dumping one of the best players in the league?

Daequan Cook is a nice young player that has a real future in the league. You also get a first round pick.

Listen, 18 million dollars to sit on the bench half the year? This doesn't make any practical sense. That is a hell of a lot of money for an injury waiting to happen.

I'll pass on tmac, yall can keep him for 18 million dollars.

Wow. If the Rockets are ever dumb enough to even think of a trade like this, they should just buyout T-Mac's contract and save the embarrassment. I'd gladly pay that $18mil just to not look like a complete Isiah.

i don't have a problem with people wanting to trade him but youre giving him away for pennies on the dollar. keep in mind that we're less then a year removed from him leading this team to the 4th best record in the conference, 5th in the league, with yao the one out half the season.

There is 50 threads on this same topic. Why do people think they should start another thread with a different trade scenario?
