Plot Outline (from imdb.com): Peter Parker is beset with numerous personal problems while Spider-Man confronts the brilliant Dr. Otto Octavius, who has been transformed into "Doctor Octopus" (aka, "Doc Ock"), a multi-tentacled menace. I was looking for a thread on this movie and was surprised when I couldn't find one (Seeing how it comes out this Wednesday and "Anchorman" and "White Chicks" have threads). Anway, the reviews for this installment are looking really good (Ebert's "Best superhero movie I've ever seen" quote and current100% rating on rottentomatoes.com) and I'm pretty hyped to see it. Although Doc Ock's not one of my fav Spidey villans, everyone says that Alfred Molina is really good in the role, so I probably won't mind. Also, word is, the cheesiness and CGI issues of the first movie have been resolved (BIG plus to me). I'm planning on seeing it sometime Wednesday afternoon. Anyone else pumped for this sequel?
There have been threads about out. I think we were all waiting for somebody to make the first post after actually seeing it. Now, because of you, the first person here to see it won't get to start their own thread about it. Way to go.
Guess I'll have to be the first to see it, then come back and post in this thread. Hope nobody goes to the midnight showings.
I thought the first one was highly overrated - I don't really want to pay money to see this movie but the "hype" may make me do it once the crowds die down.
Yeah, I want to see and hope I get to but I also want to see the new Harry Potter and I am afraid I'll have to go see that before I can go see SM2.
My friend saw a screening in which he got tixs from Bedrock Comics over the weekend and he said it was great. Nobody should be disappointed if they liked the first one, but he still said there were some parts in the movie in which he cringed about. So take it for what its worth.
I hope its not as corny as the first one, where all the New Yorkers are throwing fruits and trash at the Goblin... "You mess with Spider-Man, you mess with New York" <---CORNY
Well well! Take a look here http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/SpiderMan2-1133520/ Spidey is doing pretty well! This is the movie I've been waiting for this year. Might catch it on Wednesday and if it's that good, I'll catch it again with my friends over the weekends!
It was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It's one of the few movies my dad will pay for the whole family to see, and take us out to a meal afterwards.... That, and I actually gave in and read the books from this one on.
Well, I've got tickets for the midnight showing tonight, but I have a test on Wednesday and probably won't post some kind of half ass review til Wednesday afternoon.
I can't wait!...everywhere I looked on internet previews stated that this will be a very good one and very enjoyable to watch! If I don't catch a midnight showing, I will catch a morning show if possible...
can't freaking wait. going to see it friday night or saturday with my wife and son...my son who has been watching spiderman cartoons all week and keeps asking me to watch the first one with him again everyday!
Just watched part 1 again to get hyped for this one. Man, was that "those horrible yellow eyes!" line corny or what. I really hope they've fixed dialogue issues like this one in the sequel.
OMFG!!!! This is the best movie of the year. You always here about movies that have it all, comedy, romance, action, etc... This movie definately had it all. I'd like to review it, but I am sleepy as hell and I have a test tomorrow. While I'm here, I have to vent about the douches who sat behind me. An entire row of freaking highschool kids who all knew eachother. I wish I was Spider-Man for one minute, I would have webbed their immature asses up and probably gone overboard with webbing on their mouths. God, I hate teenagers.
just came back right now and I have to say it was still corny as hell! I think they went a bit overboard...I didn't like how they went in a certain direction on some things ***SPOILER*** The corny part of the movie was in the train fight scene, I thought it was ridiculous on how they involved the citizens. ***SPOILER*** I still liked the overall movie though 8/10
I thought it was awesome, but... ***SPOILER*** it was funny how Doc Ock was like "We can't stop the reaction now!" Then he's like "unless..." and basically on a wild hunch surmised that water could put out fire. Ha, it's a good thing he's a scientist and knew that. ***END SPOILER*** Very well done, emotionally involving, foreshadowing for the 3rd movie (although I would've liked to see SOMETHING with Venom or the symbiote) plenty of inside jokes and it was just paced right. I'm still really pissed that they canceled the MTV Spiderman. I loved that show! I think tonight I'll download the whole season just to show the man. For now though, I'm reading through Maximum Carnage. Finished my old Essential Spiderman today after work. That thing is money.
