    Whats up with these things?
They display your speed as you pass by.
Will they send you a ticket in the mail, or is it for display purposes only to try to scare people from speeding?

yeah, those machines are purely to scare people into slowing down.

kind of like the empty cop car on the side of the road.

Well those ghosts haven't ever pulled me over, so they're allright in my book. Them and the ghosts that ride the motorcycles propped up around Austin.

The recent influx of speed and light cameras that send out automated tickets for speeders and people who run red lights are being fought in court, and the outlook is good... they won't be able to send tickets using these cameras fo privacy reasons and the fact that the owner of the car might not be the one driving at the time, this making the ticket invalid.

Actually, one of those ghosts in Austin got Major. He thought it was a ghost again, but there was an actual cop in the car and he got caught. This was up on Mopac near Capital of Texas.

I never mess with any cops parked on Mopac. They're almost always real cops... I think once, if at all, was the cop a ghost. But cops parked along I35, that's a cointoss...

This was a while back. The last year I lived there, I remember Mopac being littered with empty cop cars. Guess things have changed.
