BC QB Matt Ryan should be dead after this hit. The Clemson player is fortunate to not have his neck broken like that Jet's player from a few years back. And Ryan is lucky that his sternum is intact. He is one tough SOB to come back to lead BC in an overtime win in Death Valley. http://www.tooncesworld.com/images/crunch.wmv or http://s43.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=38A56R4FOVEWW2P99XOYI57PO3 The side slam, Rock Bottom, in the Purdue-Minnesota game was awesome as well. http://media.putfile.com/PollardSmackdown
I was stuck with the damn Ohio State-Iowa game Saturday (snooze fest) and ABC finally wised up and went to a more competitive game (but it got non-competitive fast) in my Canes against Colorado. Miami was winning 23-3 and late in the game, one of their linebackers, Leon Williams (a guy who has never lived up to his high school press clippings) was returning a fumble for a touchdown. For some reason, the Colorado QB (I think his name is Klapp or something like that) tried to stop him and another LB for Miami named Jon Beeson just absolutely crushed him. The QB made it bad on himself by jumping and Beeson just caught him in the air and slammed him down. Of course, the idiotic refs threw a flag saying it was unnecessary roughness and negated the TD but the replays showed it was a clean hit and the announcers (Musberger and Danielson) both felt it was a bad call. I wished someone had a video of that hit. It wasn't as good as the Clemson-BC one but I think it was better than that Purdue-Minnesota one.
Wow. That sucks. That reminds me of the time the Texans PR (I believe it was Moses at the time) got taken out badly on a fair catch by some ass on the Jaguars (Redmond I think it was). Man, everyone in the stadium was pissed.
Yeah, that same thing happened at a TCU game. The guy was laid out. He called for the fair catch but he was speared before the ball even came down to him. Everyone in the Stadium was pissed. I was pissed. I think that player ended up puking. I can't really remember.
