90% of cancellations from southwest, were already under scrutiny for having disproportionate cancellations this past year. Got the text of my flight being canceled 8 hrs after the fact, haven't been able to get ahold on the phone since yesterday, their automated line doesn't even work anymore The airport was littered with people extending all the way to the terminals waiting to speak with southwest, theyre ****ed
They didn't want to invest in new systems. I've dealt with that for the last 10 years. Non-IT people see it as a needless expense when something already exists. Why pay for a new roof when you can just patch the old - even if it's 30+ years old. That philosophy "works 'til it doesn't".
Yall ACTING like yall crying but yall just gonna book AGAIN. And AGAIN. And AGAIN. Then bail them out with your tax money. And AGAIN. And AGAIN. Then they make your leg room SMALLER. And AGAIN. And AGAIN. Amercians' some suckers.
I miss Continental. I avoid Southwest, generally. My coworker messaged us yesterday to let us know she is stuck in San Diego until Friday because of the Southwest cancellations, and she is livid.
This is because of Joe Biden or vaccinations, right? Because that was the talking point the last time Southwest **** the bed.
I heard that all the ramp workers in Denver were fired, or quit, like 800 of them - and it has disrupted everything. https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/27/business/southwest-airlines-service-meltdown/index.html DD
On a call with employees Tuesday, Southwest Chief Operating Officer Andrew Watterson explained that the company’s outdated scheduling software quickly became the main culprit of the cancellations once the storm cleared, according to a transcript of the call that was obtained by CNN from an aviation source. https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/27/business/southwest-airlines-service-meltdown/index.html I try my best to avoid southwest unless it's that much more convenient for me in terms of flight times. I just can't stand the cattle herding boarding style.
I didn't realize SW doesn't partner with other airlines to help book passengers who have had a flight cancel............glad I fly United. Not sure how big of a factor it would be if they were trying to get them on flights on other airlines but it has to be a factor
Southwest has always worked well for me but it seems like they’ve really **** the bed post pandemic. Random weekend getaway to New Orleans, Chicago, etc for $49 is still a good deal though.
I think that’s fair. I consider it a step up over something like spirit but maybe that’s unfair to spirit who has also done the job of getting me where I’m supposed to go at times.
I love how everyone is saying "i AvOiD SoUtHwEsT" but when someone books on Frontier or Spirit, all I hear is "SoUtHwEsT iS tHe WaY tO gO"
