I can't believe anyone posted a Southland Conference Tourney thread... nice job mcmark! GO CARDS!!! Not that I think we'll win it or anything... it's been an underachieving season of historical proportions for Lamar. But it'd be nice to at least win a game and temporarily give me hope.
Lamar wins!!! 2 games to go! In other action, Northwestern won by 14 and SFA beat McNeese 72-70. UT-A and Sam Houston are in overtime.
Man, a close win by the Beerkats. Shouldn't have been that close, but what the hell. All's well that ends well. This sets up a great game between SHSU and sfa on Thursday night. They beat us over the weekend in what was basically a meaningless game for us. Hopefully that's the only reason they beat us... Anyone know if this game will be on TV? mc mark, forgot you were a fellow Bearkat. I guess we can agree on something.

You sure about that? The Sam Houston Homepage says it's SFA on Thursday night. "The win sets SHSU (21-8) up with another showdown against Stephen F. Austin in the tournament semifinal at Johnson Coliseum on Thursday. The Lumberjacks dealt the Kats a tough blow in the season finale Saturday, escaping with a 73-72 victory on a buzzer beating 3. SFA beat McNeese State 72-70 in Nacogdoches on Tuesday to advance."

Lamar better be playing Northwestern State, since I'm driving up there... The reason yahoo is confused is that the Southland does its tournament different from most other leagues. It re-seeds after every round and has the lowest seed playing the highest seeds... it doesn't stay strictly with the bracket. If it stuck with the bracket, the 2/7 winner would play the 3/6 winner, which is why it mistakenly has SHSU (2) playing Lamar (6).
Please beat Northwestern State. They seem to be the class of the league this year. I'll be shocked if they don't win this thing, especially since they're so tough at home. Go Lamar!!
