Looking forward to it. Am I the only one who found the Imagination Land trifecta to be funny, but not nearly as epic as the majority of people?
I sort of agree... to me, there was just one thing that made these episodes extra-special: the return of the woodland-critters. I can't remember when I laughed more at something than when Beary-Bear said "but we gots ta have AIDS before we pee in 'er eye sock-et!" God, I can't even type it without cracking up uncontrollably.
this weeks episode looks like it may have more promise than last week. 1202 - Britney's New Look When the boys help Britney Spears get to the North Pole, they discover the shocking secret behind her popularity.
yeah, this one was just disturbing. great social commentary, but did we really need to see... that for 20 minutes?
I thought the Britney episode was even worse than the last episode. Is South Park going down the toilet or what? Maybe it's time to bring back Mr. Hankey?
Another south park episode where I didn't laugh out loud once the entire time.. this is becoming all too common
Oh man, I dunno... for me it really wasn't that funny for most of the episode, but when it got to the very end where it was a clear take-off on "The Lottery," I pretty much died laughing. I just couldn't believe it. I didn't think South Park would spoof something as high-brow as The Lottery. "We just wanted to wait 'til you were a little older to tell you about, you know, condoms and ritualistic human sacrifices for the betterment of the harvest and stuff."
Both the episodes sucked ass. At least I didn't totally waste my time with the 2nd. Watched up until the point where she started talking in tongue. Then I knew any potential for the episode had been lost. Tuned in at the very end for the "payoff". Weaksauce.
Honestly, I didn't like the last two episodes as much as most of the ones in the last couple seasons... but man, I thought the ending to this one was pretty funny. I mean, it's no World of Warcraft episode ("We can't entrust the Sword of a Thousand Truths to a N00B!"), but I was still entertained.
The 20+ minutes of crap to get to the payoff just wasn't worth it to me. They could have made it a much funnier episode w/o half her head missing. I thought the episode with Paris Hilton was hilarious, and if they had her do the same thing at the beginning and continued on with the episode as normal, it would've been boring too.
I still think it wasn't quite up to the level of the last season or two, but yeah, tonights episode was a huge upgrade over the previous two.
No kidding. I loved that movie as a kid. One of the best soundtracks ever. I wonder how many people knew what movie it was from. "It ain't easy being Cheesy." Here's the scenes they were parodying: NSFW <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/llgBBgKSRLo&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/llgBBgKSRLo&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6pIW5gz8WUU&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6pIW5gz8WUU&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/pRaMaydobt8&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/pRaMaydobt8&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
I laughed really hard when the big fight broke out between the internet vid stars... although it doesn't take a lot of imagination to parody a bunch of already popular/funny pop culture things... it sure was great seeing the south park guys do a take on them, the singing fat french kid gets me every time
