I enjoyed it quite a bit as well, though I play a ton of World of Warcraft. I wonder what people who had no idea about the game thought of it.
Man that episode was awesome I could not stop laughing through the entire episode it was great. cant wait for next week. this show has just gotten extremely great over the past 3-4 seasons
As somebody who has played warcraft I thought that episode was.. to put it nicely.. a cop out. They're really running out of ideas i guess.. half the episode was done in Blizzard's CGI.. how lazy can you get? This episode is in the same vein as many from the last couple of seasons that focus on some pop culture thing that isn't going to be funny in a few years..
I have it Tivo'd and will see it tonight. I quoted you because I didn't know if you saw my old thread or not, but I switched servers and moved to Maraudin. It's PVE but I am enjoying it so far.

You can get every season of the simpsons, south park, the office, seinfeld, etc.. Very badass site
I missed your thread. I'm still playing quite a bit on Kalecgos and Burning Blade even though I don't PvP much.
my brother plays the crap out of that game and he thought the episode was hilarious. "uh, how do you hand off again?"
I was actually going to start a thread on this last night! By no means am I into gaming nor have I ever played War of Warcraft... but this was by far the best episode of any television show I have ever seen, period! I mean the entire episode was so entertaining. I loved it. Might have to buy this season DVD just for this one episode.
I thought it was hilarious. I don't play WoW, but I've played MMOs before and I know enough to get the jokes. I especially loved how Cartman was directing things, it reminded me of the Leroy Jenkins video from a while back. I also thought it was great how they didn't bother giving you a backstory on the douche who was killing everybody. It made sense, this guy has no life so all you see his him sitting at his desk and playing and eating junkfood. Cartman having his mom bring him a bed pan to crap into while he was playing was sick btw.
I played WoW for a year, and I thought this episode was pretty funny. My former guild leader talked just like Cartman did during raids and such (except a little more sternly). And of course, said raids always lasted for like 6 hours at a time (which is why I quit). Regarding the episode, a Shaman (we were always overpowered) equipped with Hand of Ragnaros (the big orange hammer of doom) would have totally pwned that guy in like 15 seconds...
IMO, they're using current pop culture items to discuss larger issues such as, in this case, how computer interaction is replacing human interaction. As far as the 'laziness' of using Blizzard's CGI, I wonder how long it really took to coordinate everything with them.
I'm sure Blizzard took care of all of that... that episode was basically a 30 minute commercial for their flagship product..
hearing "looks like you're about to get pwned" in cartman's voice was greatness (especially actually pronouncing it powned).
I'm pretty sure it would be safe to assume this episode took more work than a regular episode of South Park by a large margin.
That was seriously one of the best episodes ive seen them do. With me being an avid WoW player, its just fun to recognize stuff in there and say "Damn...thats true"
