    More evidence that the previous administration wanted Bin Laden dead.

    I wonder if we had taken out Bin Laden before 9/11 if that would have happened. Seems like we would have been on the lookout for retaliation attacks and may have been able to prevent the attacks in NY.

    So what is the official response to the fact/rumor that the Clinton administration warned the current administration about possible attacks using commercial aircraft? I know that was the big buzz after 911. Was that proven/disproven/swept under the rug?

    Clinton's national security advisor told Condoleeza Rice of their plan to go after Bin Laden. There were others in the room. She claims no one ever told her any such thing. (I wish they'd got it on tape.)

    I suggest reading Gore Vidal's "Dreaming for Oil." He recounts many facts that our media didn't get around to telling us.

    There is also an interesting book called "You Are Being Lied To." It has no agenda, just recounts many different news situations in which the truth was never told to the public (Waco, Oklahoma City, education in the U.S.)...or was quickly smothered, anyway.

    The current administration will claim that nothing or little was really known about:

    using planes as missiles (this was known as early as the mid-90's, on Clinton's watch);

    Clinton's administration had plans to attack the Taliban/Al Qaeda but didn't want to saddle the incoming administration with a war;

    the Bush administration disliked the Taliban's running of Unocal's (Condoleeza Rice was on its board of directors) major natural gas pipeline that runs from Kazakhstan through Afghanistan and Pakistan to the Indian Ocean;

    Bush had already decided to attack Afghanistan (before 9/11 occurred), or, at least, he claimed to want to do so, and let the information slip through Arab channels so that it would undoubtedly get to Al Qaeda and provoke them to launch their own attack, the nature of which had long been known;

    GWB, on the morning of 9/11, when informed that one of the Twin Towers had been struck, grimly nodded and went back to reading to the little kiddies at an elementary school...he issued no orders, did not hustle out of there, just went back to his banal little task;

    intercept aircraft on 9/11 never hit the air until 1.5 hrs after the first airliner veered off course (they're supposed to launch within minutes of a commercial aircraft deviating from its flight plan);

    Jeb Bush, gov of Florida, activated the Florida National Guard on September 7th, 2001, claiming that it was necessary as a means to prevent aggression blah blah external threat blah blah;

    the Mossad told the American government in summer 2001 where, and approximately when, to expect an attack on our soil from the sky;

    the airlines had heard rumblings about possible hijackings in the days prior to 9/11;

    George Tenet, director of the CIA, basically blabbed by accident that the government knew the attacks were going to happen.

    And it goes on and on.

    If you think I'm a conspiracy nut, fine. I'm quoting info that was reported in U.S. government documents and in the international press (you don't hear this sort of thing in our media).

    Oh, wait, there's more: a high-ranking Pakistani official arrived in D.C. just days before the attack. Money was wired from an account that he controlled, money that went to some of the 9/11 hijackers.

    Paul Wolfowitz was co-author of an article written ten years ago (actually, he was one of several contributors) that spelled out what the current administration has taken to heart: to attack parts of the world that might pose a future threat of any kind to the States or its vital interests (since we have no equal in the world to stop us). And make sure you pick enemies that you can beat.

    The article also said that it would be difficult to get some of our allies/people to buy into the strategy, barring a Pearl Harbor-style attack on the U.S..

    Read reviews of Sydney Blumenthal's book, the details are mentioned in every one I've seen or do a google search. The Bushies didn't want to do it because it was tainted by being associated with Clinton.
