Dwight is on board as well. Issue is - Pelicans dont want to take any touches away from Davis. Rockets made it known they need a backup center in ANY deal. Steisma went down with a knee injury. Don't think talks are serious, but wanted to update you guys. People ask percentages of things happening... I say 30%, if that. Very very preliminary. This is Moreys job, to see what is out there. DOESNT mean something is going to happen; but an inquiry was made.
Yes - Pelicans want to make sure he has room to operate and use his array of skills. (Post, drive, etc.) They feel Asik will take some of his skill set away, which they are trying to develop to the max.
thanks for the update. i appreciate that you're an insider with uniquely pertinent updates, but perhaps we could merge this thread. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=240873
1st of all...how would Asik take any "touches" away from Davis? Asik is not exactly known for his skills on offense. 2nd of al...if the Pelicans don't want to take touches away from Davis, they wouldn't have signed half the players that signed in the playoffs this off season.
Omer Asik to Atlanta. DMo to Philly. TJones to Philly. Rights to Lucas Noguiera to Philly. Paul Millsap to Houston. Spencer Hawes to Houston. get.this.done
Seriously, how is touches an issue with Asik? That said, I don't think I'd be willing to give up Anderson + a legit backup if I was the Pelicans. I don't feel like the deal is going to get done unless Morey contents himself with shopping for another 5 later.
What is the fascination on Clutchfans about burying new news into old threads? New news will get a lot more views if new threads are made.
Please no. No. No. No. No. And why would backup center be a priority? Makes no sense to me. Okafor probably will get bought out at the deadline. Rockets can offer more money than pretty much all contenders. Could also re-sign Camby. Most backup bigs of Stiemsma's caliber suck anyway.

How about another 6'11 shooter - Andrea Bargnani? Looked good last night. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/qrNiVznvACE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
No Asik the past couple of games. Granted, TJones isn't the stretch 4 that Anderson is, but, Dwight hasn't really been an offensive force.
