No way should the org even consider giving a 36 year old PJ Tucker another extension when they don't know the direction of the current team and what they are going to do with Harden. PJ has been a warrior, and a great teamate, but this is business he is getting up there in age, and guys that age start hanging around for the MLE-ish - they are not generally speaking starters in the league anymore - and as such won't get paid as much. I love his game, love his grit, think he is in the Shane Battier, Chuck Hayes, Bobby Sura, warrior class of role player for the Rockets - but timing and team are not in his favor. He is an expiring contract now, and someone that the team can probably replace in production fairly easily. Love ya PJ - but business is business. DD
It’s simple, really. If Harden signs an extension, PJ gets his. If not, we trade him or let his contract expire.
Why not?... Udonis Harlem been getting extensions since 2015... And he ain't played meaningful minutes since 2013..
