This is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages... The following verse is from the Quran, (the Islamic Bible)

    >

    >Quran (9:11) -- For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.

    >Note the verse number!!!!!

That is freaky. Is it real or was it something you got forwarded by email that will be later disproven?

for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah

You just know that some will take that to mean that we will cleanse their land of their God(allah) rather than we will cleanse the land that belongs to Allah.

    Kinda eerie though..

    MORONS

do some research before you post some crap like this.

look up an english translation of the Koran and tell me if something you found in an e-mail and took as truth is really worth posting on here.

Perhaps I am among the ignorant, but the provided link is the entire unabridged Qur'an? It seems a lot smaller than what I would have expected.

    yes it is necessary.

the correct thing to type would be.
beliveing that dribble and spreading it around is a moronic thing to do.
    do you like being PC?

dont be so uppity. Its not like the people who spread this e-mail around are all officially morons from now to eternity. The fact that plenty of people belive it. Plenty of people take this as a stamp of aproval to hunt down a entire religon. It is horrible and should not be spread by anyone. not unless they can confirm it to be true.

Imagie if it were a fake quote from the bible. How would you react then? a quote giving other religons encouragment to eliminate all Christinans, or all the "bad ones"

and ya know what. it was also offensive

    EDIT:
ok Dada is correct, and made me laugh at myself.
I did over react. but also i dont know by how much. sure being civil would have been the correct thing to do, but I have reason for some of this anger.
I have some good Musilim friends. Many of them no longer feel comfortable in this little eden we call America. the fact that my closest friend of all times is leaving. the fact that she is going back to Lebanon kills me. She does not feel comfortable in my country. She is not even muslim. She just looks arabic and that is enough. People giver her crap. and she gets e-mails like the one above. Her brother who lives near me has been threatened. Her sisters boyfriend has been threatened in Jersey.
why do people think it is ok to act like this in a country that was founded on freedom of religon and acceptance of other beliefs. the melting pot of the world as Henry Ford called it. It is E-mails like this one, and the common spreading of them. It is the general shift towards being anti Muslim that makes this country weaker. Right now it is this one little example of Americas tendency to herd our sheep aggainst Islam that has cought my ire.

I gave my boss Crap about it too. I looked it up and showed him he was wrong. He sent the truth back to all the people he forwarded it to and the person he got it from.
one small step towards enlightenment ehh.

so my sincerest appologies for the way I reacted.
Understand that what was posted was just as severe of a statement as anything I wrote.

    PEACE

Whoa Whoa! This place just blew up.

First of all Voice of Reason. I am muslim you jackass, obviously I don't want the world 'hunting' me down.

I got the email from a friend of mine who usually doesn't send me junk and I did not do the proper due diligence.

I think my political and economic perspectives are quite well known in this BBS, and your tone is not appreciated.

I do apologize for posting this without checking.

I guess i'm quite the strange 'muslim'-conservative. I agree with the Bush-Republican economic measures and I can even justify the war in Iraq. Though I am vehemently against all funding to Israel and any country that 'plays nice' such as Egypt and Jordan.

Though this quote is not from the quran, I do agree that the muslim nations have been ruled by corrupt, inefficient regimes for too long, are some of the most illiterate lands in the world and need a change in which the people can actually feel freedom. All of the money from oil gets siphoned off into a 'royal' or political elite that would rather have elaborate parties in Europe and a fleet of cars and luxurious homes rather than to help their country. Their inefficiency and corruption is inexcusable.

My only concern with the Iraq war is that we as a people in America are flaky. It will take time to create a system in Iraq and it will cost American lives, but the product could be wonderful. I fear a different leader choosing to politicize the situation and pull troops out before the job is done.

Kahn I freely admit to being a jackass. I really do. I even call myself a moron alot, and have decided that i am 80% r****ded.

but you did type this little gem obove.
as a Muslim, I think Saddam has read up on his Muslim passages. I do know however that you have not. Also as a Muslim, when you write "the following IS a quote from the Quran" people who are not familiar with your religon trust you. You did a disservice to your own people. I suppose you are lucky some Yankee Crackers actually read. Oh its cool I can bad mouth Anglo Saxon New Yorkers, I am one.

Who cares if it is a quote from the Q'ran, an email quote is just as valid as the bible, or the Q'ran.

Both are written by men, and should be taken as such.

The Q'ran, and bible are simply books written by men, they are no more valid then this email.

Just some peoples opinions that were written down on paper, and made into a book, that people THINK is holy.

    THINK FOR YOURSELF....USE COMMON SENSE....

That would help out a lot of people.

I am sure that God could care less about religion and being worshiped.

There is a reason that God gave us all a conscience, and we should listen to it.

Religion is something concocted by man to explain the unexplainable, and to control the masses.

If more people were taught to think for themselves, religion would die out.

Ya know, I have to agree with a lot of what DD is writing here. Not all of it, because I think spirituality is an important part of life.

But I've always had trouble accepting that some amazing beyond-human-understanding omniscient being gave a rats ass whether we worshiped it, or whether we read a certain book that other humans alleged was somehow related to the amazing beyond-our-understanding being.

You know DaDakota, I don't usually agree with you as far as politics are concerned, but your opinion of religion is spot-on.
