Regarding the post about the "Breakfast with coach"... I removed it for now ... it had a lot of sensitive info to the Rockets, and they asked if there was any way to remove it. JVG was apparently very candid and did not intend for that to be published. I don't want the board to be censored in any way -- I'm very sensitive to that -- but I also don't want to cause any significant problems for the team. I'm removing it for now until I understand better. I apologize to rhester also, since I told him it would probably be alright to post (rhester's understanding, and therefore mine, was JVG only asked that the free agent names he liked/disliked not be mentioned).
Its understandable how the JVG's views out in the public could hurt us in dealing with drafting and trade scenarios.
no but that information would have eventually made it's way to other teams scouts and gm's computer screens and that wouldn't be a good thing for our team heading into the draft.
I enjoyed the thread while it lasted. Thanks Rhester for the info. To the rockets if your reading this: Draft Ronnie Brewer!!! Sorry I couldnt help myself.
Too bad, that was certainly going to be THE thread of the offseason thus far. It was nice to read JVG's candid thoughts, thanks rhester. Obviously when Les Alexander asked JVG to be a little less open, comments like those getting out to the internet probably weren't what he wanted to see. Clearly JVG never intended his words to be published. If deleting threads with semi-sensitive (e.g. REAL) information gets ClutchFans back into training camp this season, hey, so be it!
I apologize to the Rockets and to Clutchfans.net I misunderstood that the candid discussion was sensitive info. I am just a die hard overly excited fan who should have been more sensitive to the priviledge I received this morning. I also hope no one in the organization is hurt by my post because I was only in attendance because I have a friend who works there. I did not have any intention of disclosing confidential information. I viewed it as water cooler talk for all the people who left there that morning. Posting it here I knew was a risk if there were people in the organization who are extra sensitive to Clutchfans. Well inside scoops are not all they are cracked up to be. I have the highest respect for Jeff Van Gundy and I am sorry if this is a violation of his trust. As a fan I meant no harm.
I understand totally why this was done and agree that it is in all of our interests as Rocket fans not to reveal anything about what management is thinking. But if the Rockets really think they can control this when there was a roomful of locals in there.........it's just a matter of time before word gets around. Poor Jeff. He really is straight up. He really isn't good at all the cloak and dagger stuff. He just believes in saying it like it is. You can go back to his comments about the officiating in the playoffs last year, he just puts his thoughts and feelings out there.
Dammit, my link to it doesn't work. Bring back the secret Styx forum! Still have my link to the Vida Guerra cell phone hack, however. The one with the photos.
You don't owe us any apology, Clutch. We all understand that you have done that for the best interest of this site which is the best on the net. By the way, this incident proved that they do read this board. That's why I found it so funny that some people have said those pictures of CD in the other thread were fake. You'd think the Rockets organization would have said something if the reporter had really photoshopped the names on the whiteboard.
Giddyup, that ridiculous. It would be a complete violation of trust with the Rockets. So if Clutch can just post the names of the two free agents that JVG is interested in, I'm willing to call it even.
