another excellent episode. Not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but what do you guys think about the psychaitrist's dreams ? Was the dog representative of Tony ? Do you think she'll get her revenge ?

I think the dog definately represents Tony, and I think the rapist is a dead man walking.

Were you guys disappointed that they showed so much of Dr, Melphi (sp) being raped? I know its HBO so they can show more violence in the shows, but I don't think the entire sequence was neccessary. They could have showed the rapist throw her down onto the stairs and then cut away to the scene with her in the hospital talking about being raped. The rape scene just really bothered me and it just kept going. It really turned my stomach.

I thought the rape scene was really powerful. Not quite as disturbing as The Accused, powerful...

The elevator in my parking garage was out today, so I had to take the stairs. I couldn't get that scene out of mind going down all three flights.

    Beck,
I'm sure that's exactly what they intended. That scene was indeed disturbing. I know i felt rage and disgust towards the guy. And I'm sure the first thing most of us thought about was how and when that guy will pay.

She has a big moral decision to make. Most of us never thought twice about it. The guy must pay! But she, being a head doc and all is not supposed to succomb to those primal urges. It would go against everything she is trying to preach to Tony.

And is it obvious to anyone else that there will be a love connection there ?

Spacecity, you're right. I think being a doctor will make it real hard for her to even ask Tony to do something about it.

Perhaps you guys are correct. Maybe I view things a little differently than you do. I was enraged when the scene started, but once it kept going I was disappointed with the network. It seems like, from talking to you guys and friends who watch the show, most people felt the scene developed a hatred by the audience for the rapist. I guess I internalized what I was seeing and started to worry about that happening to someone I love.
