Though it is not a Rockets game, I create this topic simply because Yao will play in this game.

Last year Sophomores won 132-112 and Gilbert Arenas won MVP.

    Boxscore:

I predict an easy win by Sophomores. Yao will get a double-double. Either Yao or Amare win the MVP.

Will Yao win the MVP in this game? If he gives his 100% effort, he surely will outplay all the rookies and sophomores, but I have a feeling that Amare Stoudemire will dominate the game by taking all the shots and win the MVP. Yao will save his energy for the Sunday game.

Yao's probably not going to get the ball a lot.
hope he plays some hard defense. blocking some James or Melo dunks would be nice.

I have the same feeling as you. Yao needs to shoot whenever he gets the ball. Yao is the only All-Star player in the game. The young kids will try their best to ignore and outplay Yao.

These type of games are guard-dominated games and no one plays defense. Yao should just show up for the sake of showing up. Try to have some fun and not hurt himself.

I don't want my boy getting knocked over and injure himself trying to block some dumb dunks in an entertainment show.

I just have a feeling the LeBron and Carmelo are going to come out hungry in this game. They feel slighted by their exclusion from the All Star game and will be out to prove themselves in the Rookie-Sophomore game. Yao on the other hand will have more fun with the game and not take it as seriously.

The rookies will have to be hitting their outside shots because they will not be getting much inside against the likes of Yao, Nene, Amare, and Boozer.

I'm looking forward to the game.

This is just a heads up for those with nbatv.

NBA TV will be televising the Rookie-Sophomore practice today at 11:30 AM Houston time. Players will be availible for interviews afterwards.

If you don't normally get nbatv check again. I usually don't get the channel but for some reason I checked today and am getting it! I have Time Warner and its on Ch. 101 for me. Good luck!

People are actually going to watch this game?

Wow, now that's dedication. On another note though, why should Yao try hard? Anybody with a brain (you can take out ESPN guys out right away) knows this game is just for show. If somebody dunks on the sophs, so what? Yao shouldn't even be running upcourt. He should do it like a nice stroll in the park.

The rookie/sophmore game is fun to watch. Nothing but alley oops and blown alley oops. Yao Ming should just sit in the backcourt and cherry pick the whole game...

I hope Yao plays the first 2 minutes and then sits for the rest of the "game"...

This type of game is definitely for the guards. Guys who can throw up crazy shots, make the oops, etc.

looking forward to seeing Yao tonight. I am watching MJ and Cat right now in the celebrity game on ESPN.

Amare and Yao what a great frontcourt that would be.

I think Amare will win MVP. Thank God there aren't idiots like Giricek, Butler and Gooden on the team that would try to steal the spotlight like last year.

I doubt Yao will play as much as Amare because he still got Sunday.

Can't wait to see Amare and Yao together on the court though. I hope the sophomores play smart and a bit serious.
