For some reason perhaps it was me becoming an adult, perhaps it was the 80's, perhaps it was the drugs, but well everytime I see or hear this song/video I get vaklempt... "IT'S MY LIFE" Talk Talk Funny how I find myself In love with you If I could buy my reasoning I would pay to lose One half won't do I've asked myself how much do you commit yourself It's my life Don't you forget It's my life It never ends Funny how I blind myself I never knew If I was sometimes played upon Afraid to lose I'd tell myself what good you do Convince myself It's my life Don't you forget It's my life It never ends I've asked myself how much do you commit yourself It's my life Don't you forget It's my life It never ends
Southside by Moby with Gwen Stefani. When I first heard that song on the radio over a year ago, it was nothing like I had ever heard before on radio. I was intrigued and wanted more. I soon bought Play and fell in love with it and 400 + CDs (and counting) later, I have never looked back. I would love to meet Richard Melville Hall before I die and thank him for opening the door to a whole new musical universe that I never knew existed or didn't want to know. BTW - Moby's new CD, "18", is out today. I have already ordered mine through Amazon.
Sober by TOOL There's a shadow just behind me, shrouding every step I take, making every promise empty, pointing every finger at me. Waiting like a stalking butler who upon the finger rests. Murder now the path called "must we" just before the son has come. Jesus, won't you ****ing whistle something but the past and done? Jesus, won't you ****ing whistle something but the past and done? Why can't we not be sober? I just want to start this over. Why can't we drink forever. I just want to start things over. I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile. I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well. I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave, I will work to elevate you just enough to bring you down. Mother Mary won't you whisper something but what's past and done. Mother Mary won't you whisper something but what's past and done. Why can't we not be sober? I just want to start things over. Why can't we sleep forever. I just want to start this over. I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile. I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well. I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave, Trust me, trust me, trust me Why can't we not be sober? I just want to start things over. Why can't we sleep forever. I just want to start this over. I want what I want. I want what I want. I want what I want. I want what I want. It was the first TOOL song I ever heard, and it remains my favorite to this day.
Hmmmmm.... Manny's good, he's no J. Peterman (thank God!): Gatsby walked into rooms wearing a shirt with no collar. Even a little thing like that made people talk. And probably will still make them talk. The Gatsby shirt, of course, has no collar. Only a simple collar band. The placket is simpler also: narrower. (Gatsby had them made in France, originally.) The cotton we have used in our uncompromising replica of Gatsby's shirt is so luminous, in and of itself, that even a person who notices nothing will notice something. Gatsby, of course, could afford stacks of these shirts; rooms of them. Never mind. All that matters is that you have one, just one. A piece of how things were. Gatsby Shirt (No. 1038), with two-button cuffs, stud at neck. Colors: White, Olive Stripes, or Blue. Men's sizes: S, M, L, XL, XXL. Price: $85.
Damn, thats a oldie but good song. I was like one of the only people on the face of the earth to actually bought that album. Its a damn good song though.
I actually have 2 songs... "High Lonesome" and "Lombardy Street" by Avail... "Hurt" by NIN used to hit close to home also...
Thanks, Mrs. JB. Although, Peterman is one of my favorite periphery (that's the one!) characters from Seinfeld.
