There is a Jeep or Range Rover (maybe a Hummer?) TV ad that has a bright yellow jeep-like vehicle driving across these wet sort of sandy flatlands. As it is driving, there is this alt.pop song playing in the background and I know I've heard the voice before - kinda Coldplay-ish, but it's probably not them. I can't really make out the lyrics but it has something like "free" in the chorus hook. Any ideas?
Nevermind. Turns out Mrs JB, as usual, found it first. It was a Hummer ad and the band was Filter. I knew I recognized the voice.
