Hey guys, I know not much is going on around here so I thought I'd let you in on a little piece of info I overheard this weekend. I was at a wedding in Potomac, Maryland and was chatting it up with a family friend about the state of basketball/the NBA etc. Then, the father of another family friend chimed in and said that Steve Francis of the Houston Rockets had knocked on his door a couple of days ago and was interested in buying his house. First of all, I doubt this means much of anything and I am by no means trying to imply anything about Steve moving to the D.C./Baltimore area. However, I was just wondering what you guys would think about this kind of information. Is there any reason Steve would be looking to buy this home (and these are not cheap homes, they are all 5 million plus estates in that part of Potomac) other than to have another vacation home? Would the Wizards want anything to do with Steve? Who knows the real answer, but I thought since there is a severe lack of new/interesting info right now some people may enjoy hearing something new. No, I do not have any direct audio/video evidence for this statement, you'll just have to trust that this would be completely idiotic and relatively uninteresting to make up and that I'm as bored as you guys are waiting for the new season to start.
Steve was born and raised in Maryland. He attended the University of Maryland. I don't think that it's that suspicious that he would buy a house in Maryland. Hell, it might be for a family member like his mom or something.
Yea, that's what I was thinking... ...but yea, Stevie is from the Maryland area. So, this makes since.
I heard that Yao is looking for a house in China. I hope this doesn't mean he wants to leave the Rockets to play full time for the Chinese National Team.
Because his work ethic is that damn good. Further evidence that Steve will regain his starting spot in the All-Star game this season and lead the Rockets in scoring. If the "skinny-face" pictures weren't enough, this settles it.
I wrote this in the Steve Francis thread, but basically he's around here all the time. I don't club much but he's pretty easy to run into if you just keep your ears open for the promos and just go to the same place he's at that night. So if anyone around here really wants to meet him, just listen to the radio or keep your eyes open for all those party flyers, cause his name is usually on the confirmed guest list. For all you DMV guys, you know the places: H2O, Ibiza, and that new one sorta where Caron had his bday party...oh and of course Love...the local sports celebs hang out at those places.
He probably has a good financial advisor. If you got a $30 million buyout all at one time, you'd probably want to invest that money into some things. Real estate is probably one of those things. I'm sure being from DC, he's more than familiar with the market up there.
I thought you said this was interesting Steve Francis news. All it sounds like is he is buying a house in his hometown.
Oh No! Steven Francis wants to play for the Bullets! You know, cuz every player wants to play for their hometown team before retirement (for example, Shane Battier is so going sign with Pistons when he finishes his Rockets contract).
