I'm over at Gessner and Bellaire and there's something a few blocks away that's really burning. Anyone else see this? None of the news sites have anything on it yet. It's some sort of chemical fire, that much seems certain.
i am sure it's nothing but reading this thread seems as innoculous as reading in the hangout... 'a plane just hit the world trade center' amazing how times have changed and those types of thoughts creep into your mind now...
There is a fire at the Reliant/Centerpoint substation on Gessner between Harwin and Westpark. Roughly across from Hong Kong Market and next to the Metro Park-n-Ride. Probably less than 2 miles north of you.
Thanks Mango -- I haven't been able to find anything on the web as to what it is. Wow, I'm like 3 blocks away from it. I've got a bunch of pictures that I can/will post when I find a sony memory stick reader around here.
I think it's the cops in Maine takin' care of some business!!! edit: I'm late, but it's the thought that counts!
Ironically, there's a big fire up in the mountains in the Wasatch front today. All of Utah Valley is covered in a smokey haze. It took me a minute to realize that y'all couldn't be talking about that.
"It was real hot, like the sun, but it wasn't the sun, it was the fire," a witness told News2Houston. It must have been hot.
whoa... check it out... <img src="http://images.chron.com/content/news/photos/03/09/24/smoke_front.jpg">
