First off, right now we are a playoff contender (meaning we got a shot to make the playoffs next year) but man alot of teams are getting alot better this summer. I think les has to pull something big off or else we are in trouble next year. Imagine the matchups. Yao/Griff/Francis vs Shaq/Malone/Kobe or Yao/Griff/Francis vs Duncan/Jermaine/Kidd even Yao/Griff/Francis vs Mourning/Nowitzky/Nash If Griff were to Pan out to a 15/10/3 guy well be fine but if not then we are in deep crap. I think we should trade Glen Rice/and or maybe Taylor or Griff for a Star. Doesnt have to be a superstar. Maybe a Brand, or Oneal. Or maybe even Griff and Taylor for 'Reef. We could do it the cheap way also. Get veterans and sign up for pennies aka (MLE) lets see whos out there, umm Coleman, or Trent. But in order for anything to happen. There has to be a trade first, i cant see us siging a Free Agent until we free up some holes in the lineup. Best realistic lineup would be 5 Yao/Cato 4 Brand or J.Oneal/Griff 3 Posey/Nachbar 2 Francis/(maybe Terry if we can get him but if not Nachbar can play backup 2)/Hawkins 1 (Arenas/Payton/or Terry)/Moochie Most Likely lineup Yao/Cato/??? Griff/Taylor/??? Posey/Nachbar/??? Mobley/Hawkins/??? Francis/Moochie/??? Im not putting Rice because i think hes gonna get traded so i put (???) for every position cus as of now, it can be anyone. I really hope Van Gundy can reach out to the guys and make them really want to win, and get everything he can out of everyone. Im usually an optomistic person, but If Van Gundy can make awhole bunch of Hacks like the Knicks win 50+ game seasons, and take them to the Finals, imagine what he can do with the talent we have. I just hope Ewing doesnt try and clone himself with Yao, or else were in trouble, we should really have someone like Olajuwon giveing him tips on footwork. Anyway thats about it
It should be Yao/Mobley/Francis if you are doing best three players. All this is irrelevent since games are not played 3 on 3. Posey/Griffin or Mobley are better than Fisher/Fox, Najera/Finley, and Bowen/Jackson. That doesn't even take the bench into consideration. Don't worry about nextr season anyway. The odds of going from out of the playoffs to winning a championship in 1 year are very slim. Also, the Spurs can't get both Kidd and O'Neal.
