I always read these and be like dang but never think that it will happen to you.

So I left to go to my moms at 1am friday night saturday morning.
Just got back and my neighbor called me and said to call her ASAP.
    I already knew what happened.
The removed my bathroom window, which is really high up so they had to have worked in a group.
So they trashed the place. Emptied every draw in every room. Stole my Xbox, broke DVD player and I have no idea what else that and the fact that I don't have to much here. Left the TV, guitar for guitar hero, games, DVDs, the cords to the XBOX. I haven't even had my XBOX for 2 weeks.
Words can't describe how pissed I am. I'm not scared at all. Just pissed. Whoever it was watched me leave because they broke in the neighbors how on both sides of me. I left at 1 and the neighbor said she came back at 3 and everything was gone.
Whoever it was watched me leave because of the time that it happened.
something told me to get renters insurance.
I'm in the process of getting finger prints done.
    Advice

all they stole was your xbox?

Consider yourself lucky. Violated, but lucky.

Yeah lucky but I don't have anything in there. I have a older TV no flat screen. No HD.
I brought my laptop with me.
They left my flute. I would've cried if they would've took Sally or Shelly(laptop) from me.
I'm even more so pissed that I have to clean the place up after I cleaned it before I left. Trashed the hell out of my place.
They went through my pantry. Took no food, even the ones in the bathroom. They could've took the tampons. I have a gatorade bottle on m dresser with money in it. They left that.
They took the lady next door flat screen DVD player I mean everything. I thought my place was trashed, and they took enough stuff from her to need a truck. While we were thinking about it. It was some guys laying across their cars when I was getting ready to leave. At 1am. They were watching me.
    I wish I could've saw their faces.

    LOL

OP: I'm sorry about your place and you're very lucky the bastards got most of what they want from your neighbors, although I feel for them as well. Sounds like your place must have been desert after they went through your neighbor's house. Are you allowed to clean up the place before the cops are done investigating?

    Do you live in Houston?

That and it wasnt only my house the broke into
They broke into the people who live on both sides of me.
The apartments are 1 building 2 units

My homegirl moved in my next door unit but wasn't done moving. She still had stuff in boxes. They threw all the styrofoam on the floor to only find glassware.
Her hammer is on my bed so they went into her house first. They removed the glass off of her backdoor. I don't have glass.

For lady next door in the other building the removed her AC unit and got through the window.

I live in the Hempstead/Waller area because I attend Prairie View.
and no I'm not touching anything until they do the finger printing.
The dumb bastards even semi destroyed my books. 200 buck effin books. WTF and I have a major exam on friday. My Professor is the department head and she wont let me use this as an excuse.

What I can salvage from this is you can never be suspicious enough of your surroundings. Those POS were just there to trash your place since they already have what they were after. I don't even think they wanted that xbox, since they didn't even take the cords.

I will pray they get the proper karma and then some.

Again, be glad you're OK first and foremost. And can't you get the police report to your professor first thing in the morning? People can't be that heartless.

I don't go to parties unless I'm the one hosting it. I can count on one hand how many parties I've been to all the fours years I've been at PV.

The neighbors on the right went bowling.
Friend on the right works at a hospital in Houston so she was gone.
Me, I just wanted to see my family.
They were watching because I'm always and I mean always at home. Unless I'm in class and that from 11:30am to 1:15pm.

I usually go to sleep around 3am.
I left at 1am and the neighbors came in at 3am. So I'm pretty sure I/we were being watched.

Glad you're ok with minimal loss, but if you're a renter, GET renters insurance. From what I remember it cost me like $18.00 a month back in the day. Worth it for the peace of mind.

She will help you but she still is heartless.
A friend is going to take me to the closest pawn shop tomorrow to see if its there. We still have the serial numbers to the xbox.

sorry to hear this....but i'm pretty sure it has to be someone you know, probably has been in your apartment, and probably lives in that complex too..

First, you barely got your xbox and they went in clearly looking to take only that. They couldnt have just guessed you had an xbox, so it's likely they knew you just got one. Second, this happened pretty late, you said between 1 and 3 am. Most people would be in bed or at least home, so for them to not only risk going into one, but three apartments, that means they knew those people were going to be gone. Like you said, maybe they were watching, but i think it was probably someone who knows y'all AND was watching that night too. They probably knew your friend was working at the time and would be gone, which is why they broke in their first and then got you too when they saw you left, then on to the third neighbor.

so maybe you can narrow it down, who knew about your xbox AND knew the friend work schedule? Probably a mutual friend?
