Idea is to have less players and to get a veteran with an expiring contract in return. ---------- Successful Trade Scenario Congratulations on a successful trade. Due to Houston and L.A. Clippers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and L.A. Clippers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. lets be realistic. cassell is not coming to houston. he wants to play for denver. so if he plays for anybody else it will not be us. I see no rea trades going down for us. We should cut jackie, sura, novak. so far i am sure about those. i am impressed with mike harris and havent really seen landry, but i dont think he is much. Everybody on our sqad has dapted somewhat to this better style of play except for luther. He plays exactly as he always has. cant bring the ball up the court ad makes turnovers left and right. Rafer seems to be playing better but last preseason he did the same thing and then forgot how to hoop. most likely we will just cut players but if a trade goes down it will most likely be a very small one. No kobe aint coming to the rockets u clowns.
You say that now, but you will change your mind when Rafer starts shooting those bricks and stupid tear drops!
The roster so far is looking like this to me: Rafer/SF/AB T-Mac/MJ/Luther Shane/Bonzi/? Scola/Hayes/? Yao/Deke/Butler There are 2 spots left to grab, I think Mike Harris will get one of them, the last one will compete in between synder/novak/landry
trade for future draft picks and possibly cap relief. In order to get future productive NBA players from college or to go after FAs, in case some of the player we have now decide to bolt.
TMac, Brooks, and Butler for Kobe. Do you think L.A. might do it? TMac is an AllStar, Brooks is a Pacific coast guy with great potential, and Butler is supposed to be a big man prospect who has great "potential". I bet the Rockets would do it.
the rockets would do it, but maybe it might take some 1st rounders for a couple of years to sweeten that deal. it is rather implausible to think a deal with la would work, but not extraordinary.
This doesn't need to turn into a thread about Alston, but I doubt he'll shoot half as many shots as last year. It looks to me like Adelman's offense will keep teams from daring him to shoot by moving him around on cuts instead of camping him out at the 3 point line. As far as who we should trade/cut right now (in order): 1. Reed (no room to grow in Houston) 2. Lucas (should get minutes somewhere) 3. Harris (I'll still root for him) 4. Butler (contract) 5. Snyder (logjam) Then, at the trade deadline, at least one of these has to go (for a pick and a decent contract?), depending on results: Head (team option) Francis (expiring) Alston (3 yrs/$14.7MM) James (3 yrs/$18.2MM) Wells (expiring)
here is my list of players i'd keep (no order) francis james brooks alston yao tmac reed harris battier scola hayes wells mutombo head thats 14 players, i'd keep. the players i don't want to keep. lucas, snyder (i like him, but his low iq ...) sura (buy out) leaves 3 players for the 15th spot novak/landry/butler i'd trade butler and novak to bobcats (needs center, after injuries occured) for a future first (if 2 much, then 2 2nd round picks) and jermario davidson (dont' know him, but can cut him) we keep landry. send landry and brooks the the d-league. and morey can do watever he wants with lucas and snyder.
If we cut anybody I think it's gotta be Reed, Novak, Harris (unfortunantly), Lucas, and Sura. Then we wait and see which one of our point guards we can trade if any. No way we trade Francis and Bonzi I doubt also since he's our only backup 2 guard over 6'5.
May is out of season Charlotte needs another big body just trade them someone for TE in return they are under the cap Butler or Reed
