Well I made it to the game tonight... albeit I missed the first quarter due to horrible L.A. traffic that made a 45 min drive a 1 hour 15 min drive... sheesh...

    Some quick thoughts:

Eddie Griffin is the real deal. He played very aggresive on Defense (I don't care what the box score said, I counted 5 clean blocks and 1 that was called off because of a Colson foul) and simply would shut down his man. His mechanics seemed incredibly smooth (especially for a 19 year old!) and it seemed he could score whenever he wanted to, but he did not often make that a priority. This guy oozes talent and is a star in the making.

Dan Langhi looked good enough to start for us next year. He shot smoothly (but everyone knows about his shooting already) but also got involved down low with some fearless rebounding and put back. He missed a couple tip-in dunks by a second or two, yet he really got us rockets fans rocking towards the end when he put the team on his back and got the game close for the first time. He will be an excellent 6th or 7th man.

Terrance Morris looked pretty good, some long range two's and a three, nothing spectacular but he looked solid.

Jason Collier, ugh... what a stiff. The guy looked lost (especially when he was getting dunked on) and didn't do much on either end of the floor before ice-packing his knee (didn't seem serious).

Sean Colson really lost the game for us... his failure to distribute the ball was just disgusting. He just tried too hard (especially down the stretch) and seemed to turn the ball over because of it. He would have been better off putting the ball in the hands of the play-makers.

Well I am going to cut it short at that. If Clutch wants a more in depth review I would oblige humbley. I will try to make the Grizzlies game on monday and try to bring a camera then.

By the way, when I left the Arena it was 102-92... I wonder what got lost in the translation?

Funny... that's exactly what I heard the score when I was first given the info.

Thunda32 -- thanks for the insight. The more good fan insight people have, the better ... recaps, photos, whatever -- I'd love it.

    Thanks again...

I guess it is a summer league thing, because in his "big" season last year [IMG] he didnt have a single turnover, while logging 11 assists. [IMG]

    Thunda32...
Thanks for braving the traffic and posting the report.

A quick question - what position was Langhi playing? Was he guarding Dooling, Odom or..? Also, who was guarding Dan. I realize this is alot to ask, but if you happen to remember, thanks.

Does anyone know if zone D can be played in the summer games? I am looking forward to seeing some of the things that the NBA coaches do with the zone and against it. As a H.S. coach I think that I could learn a few new tricks from the best coaches. My team usually plays very well against man, but we have had problems against a 2 man front at times (we post and penitrate well, but don't shoot real well).
