I like this note: The Rockets are 25-4 at home this season without Tracy McGrady. Who would have thought this was possible? Houston's only losses came to the Lakers twice, the Spurs and a fourth quarter choke job to the Pacers.
That is great information, we should win the games 3, and 4. Only one negative thing is that Ron has a low shooting % at home than on the road, hoping that he just takes less shots, and let the game comes to him.
Thanks for that Clutch, It really gave me even more confidence in this team to win the next two games at home. Hopefully this team won't disappoint us.. Go Rockets!
The rockets just need to take care of business the way they're supposed to. Not only have the rox been excellent at home down the stretch but Portland has been mediocre on the road all year.
Great post Clutch. I'm stoked for tonight now. There's no reason for doom and gloom and the wrath of ClutchFans right now. Let's do this thang.
I heard ESPN say the Rockets are the new "Jazz"...our home is like a unconquerable fort for travelling teams and we post a much better record at home than away...pity we don't have the desert climate or the mt everest altitude nor the hostile fans(not sure if those are good things or bad things =p)... win for sure... portland hasn't been beating playoff teams much all season...they can wipe out all lottery teams no problems...prob one of the best records against weak teams...but away in Toyota Centre?? uh ah...I dun think so... Shouldn't we factor in whether Joey Crawford is calling the game or not? Joey Crawford reffing a Rockets game = instantly -10 points to Rockets and a bunch more fouls to Yao and a bunch less fouls against Yao... One thing that is more important than anything else in this game...DRIVE THE BASKET RELENTLESSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Get Oden the Human Foul Machine doing what he does best--fouling...and Yao...and the rest of us...will DOMINATE!!! I just hope everyone drives towards Oden...dive towards Oden's head... whereever Oden is our slashers shall go...
I really hate it when ESPN says anything about the Rockets. Its almost like a Barkley jinx. Hopefully we kick the crap out of Portland and rest up while Utah takes LAL to 7. This game cannot start soon enough.
If I remember right, the spurs and Pacers games both went down to the last second too. I was actually AT the Pacers game....... But seriously, when was the last time we lost by more than 10 at home? But yeah, the cynic in me is a little worried about Clutch jinxing us with this thread…
We're going to need Landry's #'s at home to make them pay for fronting. That 10-12 pts could really make a diiference tonight.
Brooks is the one affected the most by TC's depth perception.. His home performance was always not good.
how can anyone jinx a team that hasn't made it out of the first round in over a decade anymore than it already is?
Thanks Clutch, great numbers. Is any1 else suprised by the FG% and PPG disparity ?? I know the Rockets were better at home but not this much better. Consider that the Rockets do not even have a great crowd to back them like in most great home teams (Jazz, Blazers, Celtics, Cavs etc). Think about how good the Rockets can be at home if the crowd really shows their support like during the streak. It really boggles my mind how a big ass city like Houston cannot get a great crowd together. Not just the lower bowls, the rest is terrible too. The Rockets have had great years in the last 5 years and we cannot even produce more noise than the Blazers who've only had this year and maybe last year to cheer about. Sad.... But with these numbers my confidence goes up, just like the players so it seems I'm glad Wafer had a good game 2, because he was usually the one who did not produce on the road. Hopefully Landry finally has a good game, we need him !!
What happened? I missed the latest shenanigans of ESPN, et all. JVG is providing analysis for tonight so hopefully that will offset any Barkley-esque jinx.
