I've been busy this morning. :)

Famitsu is one of the most popular gaming magazines in Japan, and I guess their latest issue had some good stuff, the first being Tekken DR for the PSP:

More here: (including info on the other stuff I'm talking about)
    http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=86179

Set for a summer release in Japan and will have the following:
Also, here's Bomberman for the 360:

Eh...that's set for a release in late May.

And then some other release dates:
    PS2 - Zettai 2 - 30th March 2006
    X360 - Pro Baseball Spirits 3 - 6th April 2006
    X360 - Chrome Hounds - Spring 2006
    PSP - Happy Dog Life - 27th April 2006

Chrome Hounds is probably the most notable one, and it looked amazing last time I saw it. Also, I think Happy Dog Life is the PSP version of Nintendogs.

edit: Edited the Bomberman images to links since I hate it when large images screw up the page like that. Changed out the Dead Rising images too.

I've always heard that DOA wasn't really taken seriously by most people that liked fighting games (Soul Calibur, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, etc.). Little bit I've played of the series, I'd probably agree, although it is pretty fun. It is just not quite as "deep" a fighting system as the other games, or something like that. I'm not sure what the terminology for these games are since I don't play them that often. :)

Some scans for Dead Rising (360):

    Dead Rising looks great!

Yeah, DOA isn't as "deep" a fighting game as Tekken or a couple of other, but it is by far the most graphically well-developed and fluid.

Oh, and now that DOA4 is playable over Live, you can prettymuch fight people from around the world 24/7.

Bomberman looks kinda wack, but hell yeah that Dead Rising looks sweet.

    Re: DOA

I always thought Tekken looked better and was the more serious of the big 3D fighters. I always enjoy a good polygonal boob though :).

    Hey RC,

    Did you see this yet?

    PlayStation 3 to be delayed?
    February 17, 2006 5:18 PM PST

The North American launch of Sony's much-anticipated PlayStation 3 could be delayed until next year, according to a research report issued by Merrill Lynch.

In the report (Click here for PDF), the analyst firm proposed the idea that high costs and Sony's decision to use an "ambitious new processor architecture--the Cell" is making it look like the company might not be able to meet its goal of getting the PS 3 out in the U.S. this year.

The report suggests the possibility that the PS 3 would launch this fall in Japan and in late 2006 or early 2007 in the U.S.

Naturally, it's impossible to know what will really happen with the PS 3, as Sony has maintained a policy of being about as tight-lipped as it could be. But there's no doubt that any significant delay in the next-gen console's launch would be a big black eye for the company, especially since Microsoft has had its Xbox 360 out since last November.

Sony did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In the end, we probably won't know what's going to happen until at least May, when the video game world converges on Los Angeles for E3, the industry's biggest gathering. But it's looking more and more like Sony may be forced to keep mum even there, and that certainly wouldn't play well.

No, that's new (well, the article and analysis from ML anyway, not the idea). I almost posted it yesterday, but only as a joke. If you check out the PDF file, you'll see that ML is somehow thinking that the PS3 will cost Sony "up to $900" at launch. Here's their breakdown:
They've also changed their mind about the price to make the PS3:
    http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/06/28/news_6128295.html
FYI, but here's their estimates on the 360:
That's right, forget all those reports from MS and analysts, MS was actually making ~$60 on every premium system sold since last November, not losing $100-$200 (although that hasn't gotten them to try and make them even faster). :)

To make matters worse, in their report, they even say things about possible delays on the RSX design, although I think I cleared up those rumors in this post:
    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=2197444&postcount=9

There's just so many inaccuracies, and I haven't even actually addressed the cost breakdowns they made, which seem pretty ridiculous IMO. Merril Lynch gives hope to wannabe analysts everywhere. :)

Might as well debunk this article as well while I'm at it:
    http://www.realmmedia.com/next_gen_...ence_call_confirms_playstation_3_is_late.html
Given the news, the PS3 certainly won't be launched anytime soon, maybe not even this year....assuming Nvidia instantly receive royalties for every RSX processor made.

That last part is a big assumption though. There are many ways to set up a agreement regarding royalties, some of which could explain why Nvidia would not receive royalties this quarter while still allowing for a PS3 launch this Spring. The agreement could be set up to where Nvidia only receives royalties for every PS3 shipped to retailers, which could allow for a Spring launch (although I guess not a launch prior to April). Someone even mentioned that there could be some sort of delay between when you earn a royalty and when you'll actually receive it; IOW, perhaps there is a royalty on every RSX made, but Sony won't make the payments until a later date (like a few months after initial production). If nothing else, some comments from developers suggest final kits have been out for a while, which by itself also suggests that RSX has seen some type of production this quarter (yet no royalty payments for Nvidia this quarter).

So yeah, given this news, we really know nothing more about the PS3 release date, despite what the writer of that article said. It could be true, but that's impossible to know without knowing the exact details of the agreement.

edit: And actually, there is some doubt on whether Nvidia even mentioned that during the conference call. As I mentioned the same event in the other thread, I did know about it and hadn't heard the "no royalty payment" thing, but I assumed I heard wrong. Now, I'm reading that it doesn't even seem like Nvidia ever said that at all; so again, more reason to not take this article seriously.
