All stats taken from 82games.com, mostly from the http://www.82games.com/0809/0809HOU.HTM page

One annoyance is that T-mac and Alston are still listed all over the page so it's kind of hard to dig through the info.

our unit with the best +/-, +104 win % of 65.3, Brooks-Battier-Artest-Scola-Yao - Not that surprising really

For reference the next highest unit with current teamates, +33 Win% 66.6, Lowry-Wafer-Artest-Landry-Yao,

our best rebounding unit, at a 65.5% rate w/ an eFG of .648, Brooks-Battier-Artest-Landry-Yao -

    compared to the starting lineup, a 49% rate w/ an eFG% of .540 , Brooks-Battier-Artest-Scola-Yao

I thought it was interesting that if you replace Scola with Landry we get significantly better at rebounding. I realize that's probably due to Landry being more of an energy player, but I never realized it was that drastic of a change.

    compared to the starting lineup, a 49% rate w/ an eFG% of .540 , Brooks-Battier-Artest-Scola-Yao

    Team win% for specific players:

    Yao 67.1
    Artest 62.5
    Battier 68.5
    Scola 61.8
    Brooks 58.1
    Alston 60.4
    Wafer 56.4
    Mcgrady 51.4
    Landry 49.2
    Lowry 50.0
    Barry 49.0

Once again, Battier playing just means teams "win."

Net Production by position, obviously center is our best:

    PER
    PG: -2.8
    SG: -1.4
    SF: +2.4
    PF: +2.6
    C: +3.7

Net eFG% when a player is on and off the court, Yao is tied with Lebron for +4.2. Which is good enough to tie for 11th in the nba. In front of them:
R.Allen, R. Lewish, Nash, Shaq, Chris Paul, D Wade, MATT BONER   , Peja, Okur, Rondo

our starting lineup is 21st in the league in +/- at +16, tied with the Bobcats lineup of Augustin-Felton-Wallace-Diaw-Okafor.

Artest is tied 5th in the league at getting blocked on inside shots with 2 rookies, Kevin Love and OJ Mayo. They are blocked at a rate of 16%

Yao is 5th in the league at turning the ball over during "clutch" time. At a rate of 4.9 per 48 Minutes of Clutch Time.

For these stats "Clutch" is defined as:
4th quarter or overtime, less than 5 minutes left, neither team ahead by more than 5 points

That's it for now, i'm at work and shouldn't continue digging. I just figured someone out there might find these interesting, sad, funny, or

    excellent thread. thanks for sharing!

definitely surprising about the rebounding becoming better with landry over scola. the rest i pretty much could've guessed (yao's turnovers in clutch time, ron getting blocked in the paint).

Lol @ our starting lineup being the same as the Bobcats.

That's kind of depressing to think about. That means our bench is everything to this team.

If we had the Bobcats' bench, we wouldn't even be in the East playoffs. XD

not in the west. that's for sure.

you have to remember that the bobcats didn't lose their second best player. i'm sure if you take off the second best player from every team in the league, our starting lineup will start to look a lot better in comparison to others.

My guess is that the reason for the Rockets having a rebound rate with Landry in the lineup is that it means the other team has at least 1-2 bench players in the lineup during those times. Scola is typically in the game against the other team's starting PF and C. As athletic as Landry is, Scola is a far superior rebounder, as he understands how to box out and position himself for the rebound as well as anyone this side of Kevin Garnett.

That "top rebounding unit" played together for a total of 38 minutes. That really means nothing, they could just played against some weak rebounding unit at the right time.

What do you mean by "our starting lineup is 21st in the league in +/- at +16"?
    You mentioned Brooks-Battier-Artest-Scola-Yao - +104 win % of 65.3, isn't that our starting lineup?

Who are the 4 guys that turn it over more in the clutch?

I don't feel like digging through the stats.

    Edit: I looked it up.

    Devin Harris
    Andrei Kirilenko
    Deron Williams
