I was fortunate enough to have attended the game today in D.C. and it was a hell of a game. I suppose you could say that the 3 guard lineup worked for today, but I don't want to see it again. The offense had no motion as usual and Moochie controling the ball for 43 minutes was boring and ineffective. The only reason we won today is that we shot really well. We could just as easily have lost that game if our shots weren't falling, we were just lucky that almost everyone was hitting on the same day for a change. Also, they love Stevie up here!!! He got a huge ovation when they were announcing the starting lineups and got applauded throughout the game for his good plays. I assume it's b/c he went to Maryland. (T-Mo was cheered as well) One more thing . . . the DC fans are silent here except for when Jordan touches the ball. They are even quieter than the Laptop crowds even when their team is winning. But when MJ touches the ball . . . the place goes crazy, flash bulbs go off everywhere, and the fans all of a sudden care again. Anyway, I am just pleased the Rockets came out with the victory for a change.
Cool recap. So the Wizard crowd sucks huh? I actually feel sorry for guys like Hamilton after Jordan retires again. They like the crowd and the excitement now, but what happens after Jordan retires?
That's what Kwame Brown is for. The Wiz could have traded their #1 pick for Brand. If you put Brand on the Wiz, the Wiz are the best team in the East.
Is Kwame that exciting of a player? Have you seen him play? There aren't many players who actually put fans in the seats. You sure do roll your eyes alot.
Well I can tell you as someone who lives in DC now, nobody cares about Kwame Brown right now. There was a bit of hype in the first few games but he was terrible and showed he wasn't ready. He could be something good in the distant future, but nothing now and nobody cares.
I was at the game too!!! I've already been to about ten this season, and there's definitely a lot of "Jordan-watchers" there. But lets face it, there wasn't much for the fans to cheer about today. The Kings game about two weeks back, the crowd was wild because the Wiz were playing so well. As for Kwame, I don't even wanna talk about it.
I too was able to make the game today... It was the first Rocket game I've had the chance to watch in person in a long time and it makes a big difference. You just can't appreciate how much an opposing team shades their coverage against Francis until you see it in person. The camera just can't capture the respect opposing teams give him.
Apparently there are more of us in DC than we thought. Woo hoo. Two things most of the Texans didn't see. An Amazing race between fans in scooba gear. One fan had a half court lead on the other guy, but in a mad dash the man trailing caught him in a photo finish. The winner had such a head of steam built up that he crashed over and then slid across the tables behind the basket. Hidden behind the table he pumped his fist in the air. It was the best effort I've ever seen in a fan race. The second thing was the halftime show. You may have seen the circus freak open up ESPN last night. Well, he was the halftime show and he sure was a freak. I don't normally get excited about cricus shows, but this guy was sick. The fans were quiet, but you have to remember it was a holiday game for those of us in DC. So it wasn't the usual group. Steve Francis did get quite the ovation and plenty of Maryland Fans showed up to watch him. Here's your program guide.
i was at the game as well....great game....i thiink the wizards are slowly starting to doubt whether Brown will ever be the player they envisioned when selecting him with the #1...he looked good in some of the preseason games but has lost confidence since. Ethan Thomas and Brendan Haywood have shined at times and should give the Wiz a solid frontcourt to go along with Hamilton and Alexander (if he ever gets his confidence bacK)..regardless, The Rockets played great small ball and really hit the boards hard throughout the game...his was by far Mocchie's best all-aroung game that i am aware of.
Yesterday, I went to the Wizard game, paid $5 for the above program that had yesterday's date and pic of Steve Francis on the cover. In over 70 pages, there WAS NOT EVEN MENTION WHO WAS ON ROCKET ROSTER or ROCKET PLAYER PROFILES! Speaking of highway robbery of possible purchase of a $6.50 beer, a bigger theft was a purchase of a basketball program without an "Opposing Team Roster". Had halfcourt seats, unfortunately they were in the high altitude Bob Uecker seats. Wizard enthusiasm was low, no crowd into the game. Rocket offense looked guard orientated with players standing many times around as guards drove the basket or shot long range jumpers. FREDTERP PS PhiSlammaJamma, how 'bout the human contortionist at halftime, hard to watch someone who could turn arm parts or complete body around 180 degrees? I think this guy could fit through a keyhole. I wonder if this guy got paid??
That guy was a freak. I was cringing when he did some of that stuff. I'm not sure how his face ended up kissing his behind, but that's just not right.
