Some observations: 1. The two most overrated players on this team: Aaron Brooks and Luis Scola 2. The players and coaches don't trust Yao Ming down the stretch. (not necessarily a bad thing). three or four touches in the second half. Don't give me that fronting crap. They are hesitant to pass when he is open. 3. Adelman is a player's coach 4. This is actually a good loss because it shows some problems they have to address (if the team actually cares about winning and wants to go somewhere), which include: 1) who is our go to guy, especially in the 4th? we are 23 - 2 when Yao scores 20+, artest has 32 tonight and we lost. (His overall 4th quarter performance this season is very bad, one of the worse on the team along with Mac) Brooks? (Overrated) Scola? (Overrated) Wafer? (has potential) 2) Fronting problem = trusting issues? First of all, do they even practice fronting in practices? It is easy to beat fronting by swing the ball quickly and hit yao quickly when he is open. Brook got so scared today (and Portland game) when fronting begin and started to make stupid plays. 3) Is Adelman a player's coach? Yes, he is and he doesn't trust the current Franchise player down the stretch. 4) Defensive intensity drops significantly on the road, why? Some solutions to our problem!? 1. Establish the go to guy, especially down the stretch. It is pretty obvious who the leader is right now and that is Artest (good or bad? that is for another day)/ But who is the go to guy? Yao? Artest? Brooks? Wafer? 2. Best Rotations? Has to set down the rotations IMO. 20 games left and we have to start playing some fixed rotations and gel. 4th quarter rotation: Yao, Landray, Artest, Battier and Lowry in IMO gives us the best chance. 3. Rebuilding in the summer? Also a viable option. I would start by trading Yao for some good pieces. Obviously Adelman want a big man that can play in the high post and good passer. Bosh maybe? Resign Artest? Rebuilding isn't a bad option actually and it may give us a better chance in the future.
you have got to be joking. we TRIED ferociously to give him the ball. touches don't mean we weren't looking for hte guy. we just couldn't. and scola is overrated? 16 pts and 12 rebounds on 70% shooting.
Don't get how Scola is overated. He is a double double machine lately. It's not his fault the guards can't get the darn ball down the court and get the team into their offense.
Rebounding was a big problem. Landry was out. One problem solved. I agree with one thing. This loss is something we can learn off of.
Worst post of the year? How can you even begin to say Luis Scola is overrated. He is easily one of the most underrated players in the league. It's not a trust issue with Yao. It's Adelman's inability to devise a new scheme. EVERY COACH KNOWS WE TRY TO FORCE FEED YAO IN THE FOURTH, so they just focus nearly all of their defense on him, whether it be fronting, immediate double/triple teams, or just constant harassing.
In the second to last play the rebound fell right in Yao's hands and ... *gasp* .. he couldn't hold on to it. That's why the Rockets are hesitant trying to pass him the ball in traffic.
we just have to pray yao dominates the first 3 quarters like he did v. the cavs, and his confidence is sky high going into the 4th.
That is actually not the main point I am trying to address. I am not angry that Yao couldn't get the ball in the fourth. This is obviously a big problem for us and I am trying to figure out how we can solve that problem. Whether it is new game plan by the coaching stuff or by trade. Scola is overrated in a sense that people on this board is overrating him to extent that is above his capabilities. He is a solid player but he isn't someone I am confident that can make thing happen unless he is open. This is the second straight games where he missed all his attempts in the fourth. I am more confident in Landry in the fourth because he is more explosive and a better offensive rebounder
scola is a legit player if he's guarded 1-on-1. watch games please. he took ben wallace off the dribble in the post several times last game. we just need to give him the ball more. landry is the guy who can't do much off the dribble.

I agree with that, but when he is surrounded by three players he needs to learn to pass the ball. Sometimes, he is too aggressive. He got block in fourth because he tried to go up against three bull players
There are 3 problems that lead to the collapsed in the 4th quarter: 1. Yao is being fronted. 2. Aaron Brooks is getting killed. 3. Artest want to the hero at the end. Ok let's talk about Yao getting fronted. Why didn't they use Battier in the corner to lob him the pass...that way the opponents won't front him. Why did Adelman not use Lowry when called timeout and have a chance to get Lowry in to play defense while the Bulls has possession?? That puzzled me. When they were down by 2, i can sense Artest want to be the hero by chucking up 3 pointer instead of force feed Yao. Artest was not patient imo. This loss really hurt...how can you let the Bulls come back?? I also think Rick Adelman over play Artest too much at the end. I also think that he should have gone with Lowry instead of Brooks. Brooks get killed by Rose.
