Trade #1 Houston sends Howard/Ward to NY. NY sends K.Thomas/Moochie to Houston. Howard has been a 17/7 player every year of his career, until he came here. He gives NY more offensive punch than Thomas, but sacrafices some rebounding & blocked shots. However, it's my understanding that NY is ready to start playing Sweetney more. So, Howard could be their 6th man. NY's been trying to dump Moochie, & Ward would be an upgrade. Thomas would give Houston an upgrade at the PF position & would be a better rebounder & shot blocker than any of our current PF's. With Sura healthy & the emergence of Barrett, Moochie can serve the rest of his contract on the IL, or be bought out. Trade #2 Houston sends JJ/Howard/Nachbar to Boston. Boston sends LaFrentz to Houston. With the emergence of a less expensive Al Jefferson, the steady play of Blount, & the promising rookie in waiting (K.Perkins), Boston might be interested in trimming some salary off the books & picking up a couple of solid veteran players. Howard's contract is about half of LaFrentz's & one year shorter in length. The Boston Herald is reporting that Boston would like to reacquire Antoine Walker. Would they rather have this deal instead? I'd really hate to give up JJ, but LaFrentz could be the player that best helps Yao. He's got a very consistent 3pt shot, rebounds better than the players we currently have, & blocks shots. As we all know, Howard is redundant & Nachbar is most likely playing out his contract with the Rockets. Trade #3 Not likely to happen, but you never know. Houston sends JJ/Nachbar to Denver. Denver sends Nene/R.White to Houston. Denver was trying to trade for Jon Barry, but lost out to us. They're still looking for a SG to replace the injured Voshon Lenard & might be interested in the veteran presence of JJ. I also read somewhere on this board that Kiki really likes Nachbar. When Nene heals up, we'd have the PF we've been yearning for & White would give us a solid SF. Trade #4 Radical trade idea. Houston sends T-Mac/JJ/Howard to Seattle. Seattle sends Allen/Fortson/Daniels to Houston. Would Ray Allen be a better fit than T-Mac? T-Mac's best game is going to the rack. Yao clogs the middle. Allen is the better outside shooter. Hmmmmm.........? Just some idle trade thoughts on the eve of Christmas
i'll make it short trade #1 - no stinkin moochie. period. trade #2 - lose too much for one guy, we already did that this summer trade #3 - this one is actually ok trade #4 - tmac is going nowhere, trust me.
You didn't read my explaination, did you? Moochie would be buried on the IL, or bought out. Imo, you'd have to take the remaining 2 years on Moochie's contract to get KT. We trade 1 of our 3 PF's, 2 of which are redundant, for a PF that has all the skills we need from our starting PF. We trade Nachbar, who hasn't played much & is most likely going to be allowed to walk at the end of the season. The only real contributing player that we lose is JJ. We then move T-Mac to the SF position, with Padgett playing some backup minutes & platoon Sura/Barry at the SG position. Actually, this is the weakest of the 4 & most likely won't happen. I just threw it out to see if someone might be able to tweak it. You might be right, but so might I.
tmac isn't going anywhere. nene is not coming to us. the first trade i would do, but NY probably wouldn't. watch some knick games. thomas is much better offensively that howard. he is a much better rebounde rand defender too. NY would be crazy to do that deal. the lafrentz deal i like. boston wouldn't take howards contract because it doesn't end in two years. my freind is boston told me that they are trying to clear space for that summer. mo's contract ends that summer. so if it were just mo and boki for raef both sides might do it. yao-deke-spoon raef-jh-pad tmac-bowen jj-barry-gaines sura-ward-AB
The third one is the only one i really like (#1 is ok also) but I doubt it happens. Hopefully Denver continues to struggle and gets desperate.
I would appreciate ideas for potential trades using our TE plus our 1st round pick. I just don't think we can get a Nene or a Chandler like player with them.
all of these guys fit under our TE and should be attainable: etan thomas aaron williams donyell marshall marc jackson eduardo najera matt harpring eric williams devan george lamond murry brent barry david wesley eric snow some might require us to throw in the pick, for some we might get a pick.
None of these trades really help us. Trade #1: Just say NO to Mooch. I doubt Les would want to buy his contract out so it wouldn't matter if he sat on the bench or not. KThomas also got a nice fat extension. Too much contract to take on. Trade #2: WWWAAAYYY too much for Lafrentz. This trade would leave us with ZERO SF's, zero. I would do Howard/JJ for Lafrentz, but we need a SF. Trade #3: This was a rumored trade and I don't think it can happen til' after the new year. I would do it though, but I wish we could dump Juwan or one of the PFs on them. Trade #4: I think you let the snow get to your head.
If freakin New Jersey can attain Vinsanity for garbage then I think getting Nene falls within the realm of possability. Also, denver is looking to clear cap space and JJ and Boki and JJ's contracts end this year. So yes to trade 3. But a big HELL NO to trade 1. I dont want moochie nor KT's huge contract. Reaf is to brittle so no to trade 2. As for trade 4... lay off the egg nog.
Thank you smoothie. I like Harpring and have come around to the idea of getting Donyell as well. I wouldn't throw in our 1st round pick for them but would be willing to give a 2nd rounder along with the TE to get the job done. Let's hope that something good will come out soon.
