Hey everybody, my friend put some Rockets pride stuff in a profile that is hilarous.....so i thought i'd share it. "Hey Confucious, I gotta riddle for you...If the Spurs win 4 games in a series but nobody is watching, do they still win the championship?" And she also said: "Hey Spurs Fans - Congrats on winning the championship (esp. Claxton, TD, Manu, Kerr and Smith)...and congrats on making it the most boring championship ever! Oh, and one more thing - 1 +1 = 2 (Rockets) 1 + 1* = 1 1/2 (Spurs) We still have the advantage." I thought it was pretty clever.....don't you?
Spurs and Rockets are in the same boat. We are so-called small market teams. I don't understand why people still keep pointing fingers at Spurs. Laughing at them is like laughing at ourselves. Is that funny? Screw LA, NY, and Co. and ESPN.
That's really unfunny. My response, if I was a Spurs' fan (God help me), would be: 1+1*=1.5 (Spurt) .5-1.5=-1 (Rockets, for the 1.5 years MJ was out) I'm not saying I agree with that...it's 2-2.
I'd ask what kind of person you are, but the first 3 letters in your name say it all Geez you all need to lighten up instead of just attacking everyone. I'm a rockets fan and was poking a little fun at our competition. Yeah I've read all of the debate about the spurs getting an "*" by their first title, but I did not agree with it. I was just playing but I guess everyone who replied took it the wrong way.....as usual
it was okay... but for some reason i see yetti posting the exact same thing and it being funny as hell.
I am happy for the spurs. It was just a joke. I like that Robinson went out a winner, Willis finally got a ring and all of the storyline on why it was a good championship for them. But you have to admit that it was ugly to watch as a fan. It had low percentages and has even sparked many people to question the shooting fundamentals that the new generation has. My problem is that i bash the spurs (jokingly.....b/c i love the rockets more) and get heat for it, yet people bash cuttino, francis, posey and others all the time. Am i to believe that there are fans here that support San Antonio more than their own rockets......because they just won the title. If so i believe that is pretty lame and those people should take more pride in their home team instead of b****ing about them all the time and jumping on the bandwagon of the team that recently won.
OmegaSupreme, Yeah i agree that one person can say something that is funny (or atleast non offensive) and have it shot down, but another person could say the exact same thing and it would be frickin' hilarious. Oh well i guess people are more biased than I thought.........i guess i'll continue to read and keep my posting to an minimum because this appears to be an unfriendly environment. (i guess I never broke the ice with everyone....or something like that)
It's more funny if you've had more posts. I thought it was funny, but what does it matter I'm a junior member, (well, not really). omega is right, it's more biased. I had another username before I forgot it when clutchcity.com became clutchcity.net, and garnered more respect. Too bad they think junior members are bandwagon fans or something as worse (my opinion)
misunderstood i think. i was saying that it sounded like more of a yetti comment than anything else. basically your friend's signature is "yetti funny". someone in the hangout said it best, "yetti is funny in the way that a handicapped person falling out of a wheelchair is funny". don't fret, man. if yetti made the same thread, i'm sure he would have been bashed more although he's been here a heck of a lot longer. what i'm saying is that being called "unfunny" is better than being told "oh just shutup" like someone told yetti in the feedback section once (that was funny). i'm still a newbie... i just post too much.
I meant no offence by what I said, it was merely a joke. Perhaps that wasn't emphasised enough because i didn't put a smily face at the end of the sentence? Arn't you the one taking this a bit too seriously?
Now, I wonder why YOU wouldn't think that the 94 Rox aren't he most boring ever? Hmmmm....? The 03 Finals weren't a work of art, true. But it wasn't the worst. Tell me if you thought that the Spurs/Suns, Spurs/Lakers, Spurs/Mavs series were also boring? No? I didn't think so. Carry on.
